update #2. That was not the issue. Cut hay again yesterday and and after a bit it started it again, died a couple of time. So as this noise would kick in and power loss I listened to se where the ticking was coming from. It was on passenger side, injector pump is on driver side. So the mechanical lift pump is in the area of ticking. I took it off and on the inlet side was a very fine screen and was covered in what looked like fine black plastic hairs. Defiantly something that would be restrictive. That screen is small and very fine, its amazing it doesn't get clogged constantly. Best I could think is the hairs are plastic from the tank. I've ran it but only up and down the road and tedded a little. I feel more confident that this was the restriction and just wasn't filling the fuel bowl up quick enough to keep up with sustained high rpms. My tank is half full and will bale tomorrow so I'll have less fuel to deal with as I'm dropping it next to check it out and pickup screen. I'll probably cut an inline filter in pre lift pump that's easier to change/clean.

I also checked temps with infrared thermometer and coolant flow and all that seems good.

Pics of screen after I took apart. Really a maintenance item I blew past. It calls for cleaning every 600hr. I’m at 1500. The clean center is where I used a small pick to pull out debris before taking apart. IMG_1723.JPGIMG_1724.JPG

That would certainly starve it of fuel. Electric lift pumps cycle or click very fast when they are pumping air, or starved for fuel. If it took you 1500 hours to plug it, you're probably safe to just clean it and put it back in. If you were concerned that something got put in the tank, siphon a bit of fuel out right off the bottom and see if you vacuum anything else up.

I am going to check screen periodically to see if there is any trash in it, I dont expect to see any. The tractor runs great, got all my hp’s back at high rpm’s. This was a slow onset so I just got used to the slow gradual loss of hp.

Same thing happened to me with my 3635. There were dead lady bugs packed into the primary filter housing and banjo fitting. Lady Bugs! I drained and flushed the tank, and covered the bottom of a 5 gallon pail with them. The gift kept giving for few days. Once I heard the ticking, I would take my 19mm socket and pick and remove and clean out the banjo fitting in the field. Now it has finally run out of lady bugs, and it runs fine. I am puzzled as to how they got in there. My fuel has been filtered and clean.

Any chance the bugs took shelter in your empty fuel can? Then when you refueled, you got more than just fuel in your tank.
