Not the joystick...the 3rd SCV lever...which is a handle next to the rockshaft control. Hey, it's just as bad. They have really screwed with this guy.

No, not the joystick lever. It's a separate SCV with 3 positions. It will stay in the center or forward position, in which the loader works but not the BH, or it has to be held in the rear position, in which the BH works but not the loader. I returned to the dealer with your thoughts, and he decided that JD must have sent the wrong kit. Indeed all the pictures in the manual for the 447 BH look like what you described - ie having to disconnect a line from the tractor before connecting the BH, and not at all like what JD sent with the tractor. I didn't realize that would disable the rockshaft, but that makes sense too. So, I'll wait for the new power beyond kit and see how it turns out. Thanks again. I'll let you know what happens.

ok, you mentioning the loader working and got me all confused..
must be with the scv pulled back to run the hoe, there aren't hydraulics left to run the loader up front...

is this the dealer's first backhoe install??

HI again re my 447 backhoe.
John Deere had sent the wrong kit, and since this was obviously the first time the dealer had installed a backhoe on a 3320, they did not recognize it - although all the directions in the manual were illustrated for the correct power-beyond kit. They did get the right kit now and installed it, and all works fine. Thanks so much for your input which got me on the right track.
