4520 cab ?

I am considering getting a JD cab tractor with FEL. I am replacing a NH tc55da open station and want to stay around the same HP. I also would like to get a gear trans instead of HYDRO is this an option with the JD cabs ? I found the build your own part of JD's web site to be non user friendly.

Also what is a good price for these machines ?

Hydro only for the Deere 4000 series cab units. You would have to go up to the 5000 series If you stay away from the M series in the 5000 the pricing is pretty similar. Good Luck

thanks for the info. Are the 3000 series the same ? Here is my problem with hydro, I have a bad right foot/ankle and the constant pushing for movement causes pain after extended operations. Does the JD have a lock/cruise that stays on even if you hit a few bumps in the field ?

Yes it is the same w/ the 3000 as well, in fact it is the same exact cab. The cruise works ok, but the upgrade version is worth it if thinking about it.

I was a hardcore power reverser tranny (JD gear) guy but the CAB was needed. I am very happy with my 4720 cab tractor even though I thought there was no way I would ever buy a EHYDRO machine again. Upgrade the cruise control to the "Automotive style" cruise and you will love it. My 4720 also had Auto throttle. Not sure if 4520 has that or not...:thumbsup:

The 4520 and 4720 cruise options are identical including the auto throttle.

Something to keep in mind if handicapped, you could have the rocker switch and motion lever that is installed on the 110tlb added to your 4520. This would allow you to use your hand instead of the footpedals. Should be a simple thing to hook up.

The Deere "Build your own" says the 12f/12r PowrReverser is available for the 4520.

In case your dealer/salesperson doesn't know - the automotive cruise on the 4x20's is a really nice feature, for about 100$, and 60 minutes of install time. It should work nicely for you.
