I bough new 4530 in feb 06 and use on farm, raking, discing, box blade.
At 200 hours front spindles developed excess play and front end was replaced.
Unable to do spindles by themselves.
Also 225 hours clutch went out. Seal broke and oil got into clutch housing and
replaced entire cluch. put in new cermaic which now grabs at end stage.
Had tractor for 2 1/2 weeks to repair.

Dealer said normal for ceramic clutch.

Now 290 hours rear end started leaking.
Brakes seals out and had to replace both rear brakes.
after 2 weeks brough it back and right is tighter than left.

All was covered under warrenty, BUT,
wonder what will occur next.
This is my second Mahindra.
Had 2810 I trades for 4530.
Was having electral problems which were unable to be fixed.

I believe this has just about done me in on Mahindra.

I bought a new 4530 Jun 2005. I just turned 200 hrs and my clutch just started slipping. I guess its my clutch it feels just like an automatic trans. that slips in a car when its going out only my tractor only does it while im in high range 2nd 3rd & 4th gear.I called a dealer and he said that the clutch would not be covered under warranty and that just the labor would be around $800. I have been very gentle with this tractor and i dont think the clutch should start messing up with only 200hrs on it.The only time i use the tractor in high range is traveling to my dads place which is 3 miles from my house. Any suggestions?

Not to sound too foolish but, have you tried adjusting it yet?

Have the dealer check to see if the clutch housing has oil in it. Some of the early 4530's had an oil leak issue and when oil gets on the clutch it slips. If it is dry, then adjust it. With proper use, you should get a lot of hours out of that clutch.

fyi, if there is a defect the clutch is warrantied. the reason they normally say the clutch isn't warrantied is because 9 times out of 10 clutch issues are due to operator misuse. Out of all the clutch issues I've seen on Mahindra's that have entered our shop only one was an actual defect and it was like Dave described above, oil on the clutch.

Update on the tractor.

I furnished the requested information the same day to Mahindra USA
Customer service.
They replied they would have the area service manager contact me asap.
Next day an email stating he was sick and someone else would contact me.

Approximately l week ago the brakes again became a problem.

So yesterday afternoon, I email Mahindra USA, to tell them I had not
Been contacted.

Late yesterday afternoon I received an phone call from my dealer.

He stated Mahindra had contacted him to find out what was going on.

I told the dealer I was waiting for a Rep from Mahindra to contact me.

I told him about the brakes, and had not called him, as they said a service
Rep would be contacting me.

It sounded to him like same problem again with the brakes and would need
To take in for another repair job.

I inquired while he had the tractor, what would he offer me for it.

He DECLINED an offer, stating “he did not want the tractor,”

This was concerning to me, if he did not want to even make an offer.

He would be glad to fix thought.

It will go back to the shop this next week, when he can work it in.

So the ”bad” luck continues?

I wonder what will occur next.

Ever hear of the "lemon law"??? If they don't make it right, get a lawyer. Not only will you get a NEW Tractor, but they will have to pay your lawyer's cost as well. I do suggest you consult a lawyer on this. BobG in VA PS: I'm a very satisfied Mahindra owner but this is business---nothing personal Mahindra, but you folks best better get the 4530s right and do it soon. Yeah, this is a short rant and if at least 2 of you unsatisfied 4530 owners get together you could maybe have a class action as well.

I am new to this board. I am looking at the Mahindra and the Kubota.
Need around a 35-45 hp tractor to mow , clear some land, keep up a driveway and hopefully some of the neighbors who do not have a tractor will hire me.
I need some thing I can get good service on and is dependable.
I favored the Mahindra over the Kutobta due to value for the dollar.
But with the problems you and some of the others say they are having
I am having second thoughts about a Mihindra.
Should I wait to see what happens?
Any tractor is a lot of money for me.

Has the dealer not looked at it? Sounds like an issue they should be addressing.

Fyi, he probably declined to buy it because he would be out of pocket for the cost of it. Dealers have a floorplan therefore most dealers would prefer to not have used stock, there are some larger dealers that can afford used stock but most can't unless it's a really hot item or an extremely low price.

It's a no-win situation for the dealer if he makes you an offer. Unless it is what you paid for it, you'll be disappointed, and it will be cash out of his pocket, as mentioned. Then you will be frustrated with the tractor and the offer...instead of just with the tractor. Plus, the tractor needs to be fixed right, and can be fixed right.
