It's a no-win situation for the dealer if he makes you an offer. Unless it is what you paid for it, you'll be disappointed, and it will be cash out of his pocket, as mentioned. Then you will be frustrated with the tractor and the offer...instead of just with the tractor. Plus, the tractor needs to be fixed right, and can be fixed right.
Yeah, can you imagine if every tractor dealer was forced to make a cash offer on the spot to buy back every tractor with which someone once had a problem? Who could do business like that?

These instant "my tractor is no good" threads frustrate me. There is no way for me to know who is at fault here... or if the claims are even real or fairly/correctly stated... but Dave is right. The tractor needs to be fixed right and it can be fixed right. These silly "buyback" requests are just pure unhelpful nonsense.

well I am guessing this is still under warranty. Keep sending it back till it is right. Ask for a loaner tractor. You aren't out anything that way and you get to try other machines. It becomes time intensive for your dealer which makes them want to get it right just to be done with it. I'd check the lemon laws again and contact sick mahindra rep again. Just cuz he is sick, someone else has to be there to fill in.

I'm curious what the deal is with the dealership. The clutch is slipping and what is the dealer doing about it? has the dealer looked at? do they refuse to work on it? either I'm missing something or this hasn't been stated.

With clutch issues most of the time we tell the customer, hey if there is a defect with the clutch the repair will be covered under warranty BUT if we split the tractor and the clutch is showing wear from operator misuse you will be billed for the repair. If the customer is confident that they have operated the tractor correctly they have nothing to worry about but a lot of times machines are being used on construction sites and guys that know nothing about the tractor are using it and tearing it up. Mahindra and the dealers can't be responsible for owners not properly teaching their workers how to use the tractor correctly.

I think the first step is taking the tractor back to the dealer (unless you've already done this). Next, if the dealer does not fix it or is not willing to fix it contact Mahindra.

The clutch has been repaired once.
Dealer said a seal went out and got oil in the clutch.

I have contacted Mahindra as stated in an earlier post and they had the dealer contact me.

The brakes have been repaired once
The Dealer again told me a seal had went out and got oil in the clutch.

The brakes again is doing the same as previous.
It begin about a week after getting it back.

I have reported to dealer and he believes it is same problem, another seal is out, but will be not be sure until he has a chance to look at it.

Since then I am waiting on the dealer to have time to repair again.

I do not have a problem with the dealer.
He says he is really busy this time of year.
and he does have to order parts in when he finds the problem.

as I stated in the very first post, I am concerned about the amout of major
problems I have had in a short period of time.

Sorry to hear your dealer is too busy. Everyone is busy this time of the year but in my opinion that's a poor excuse for not taking care of a customer's warranty issues.

Best of luck to you!

I agree. A customers tractor that is broken is top priority. Pay the mechanic overtime, work through the weekend...whatever it takes!

If that customer service rep is still reading - I wouldn't touch one of these red jobbies with a 50' pole after reading this (and I was thinking about it)... I'm pretty sure I need something more than my Orange BX24 for the 35 acres I now own...

I think you do too. :) And I can understand the way you have reacted to this twisted thread. It would scare me off too if I didn't know better.

I'm curious... were you thinking specifically about the 4530? Or just Mahindras in general? If you are happy with your Kubota and your local Kubota dealer, why would you think about changing brands?

Are you anywhere near Batavia, NY? Lucky you if you are! One of the very best Mahindra dealers anywhere in the world is located right there!!!

Fishpick,

The dealer isn't on the board giving his side of the story. I'm not saying the original poster is being dishonest, not at all, but I am saying that without hearing from the dealer we are just hearing one side of the story.

Kubota's break down also. We've fixed a bunch of them, and Kubota dealerships have shops and they aren't just fixing green and red tractors, so let's agree that all tractors can have an issue every once in a while.

You are painting with too broad a brush. We may have a particular tractor that is a problem or even a bit of a lemon, and/or a dealer that could be doing better, but I think we should not say that all Mahindra's are problems.

You are experienced with a BX24. Go down and test a 2415HST. You will be very impressed!

I think that it is a shamethat this gentleman is having such a hard time. I do agree with Dave that we are not hearing the other side of the story. You know that no one ever abuses their own equipment, or will admit to it. I just find it hard to believe that if there were more people having problems with the 4530, they would be so silent.
I really hope that this is just an isolated inccedent, the reason being is that my 4530 will be arriving on Thursday or Friday. I am a Green fan from way back. I have had several over the years, always someone eleses trade in or problem. I just got tired of working on the tractor instead of working it. Been looking for a while and decided to go RED!!!!. Price was a big concern and to tell you the truth I haven't heard anything all that bad.
