Probably true of a slick but I suspect there are complications depending on whether you are talking about turf, R4, or ag tires and possibly the plys involved and subsequently what the true contact area and shape on the ground is - versus what the tire carcase is carrying which has to match weight/pressure. In other words - at 20 psi and 1200 lbs on a rear tire - 60 sq. in. of carcass shell is carrying the weight - but is that then supported by 60 sq. in. of actual tread (slick) or 10-15 sq. in (with an aggressive and hard tread)? Think sheepsfoot roller for an extreme.
So I gave up trying to get an exact number and went with relative values between the sizes and assuming like tire types.
