Your previous post is length. For example, there are 68 inches of length between the point at which the front wheel of the 4310 touches the ground and the point at which the rear wheel touches the ground.

I'll attach a pic of a side shot of a 4310. See where the front wheel touches the ground? Now look at the rear wheel. Do you see where the rear wheel touches the ground? There is 68 inches between them. The machine overall is 117 inches.

Here are the widths:

Overall Width (Minimum)

4210= 56.3 in
4310= 50 in.
4710= 65.8 in.

Hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The size of the contact patch is the tire preasure divided by the weight.

Probably true of a slick but I suspect there are complications depending on whether you are talking about turf, R4, or ag tires and possibly the plys involved and subsequently what the true contact area and shape on the ground is - versus what the tire carcase is carrying which has to match weight/pressure. In other words - at 20 psi and 1200 lbs on a rear tire - 60 sq. in. of carcass shell is carrying the weight - but is that then supported by 60 sq. in. of actual tread (slick) or 10-15 sq. in (with an aggressive and hard tread)? Think sheepsfoot roller for an extreme.

So I gave up trying to get an exact number and went with relative values between the sizes and assuming like tire types.

Turf tires work fine for moving snow with the 2210. I would much rather have turfs than the others in slippery or icy conditions. There are more and better options on both the 42 and 47. I would take the 4710 in flash is you can actually get it for that price. I have seen prices at auctions go far higher than expected.
