4720 with Cab - Dropped off Today

Thanks johndeere_2210. It has been a lot of fun, I mean work. Getting a lot of compliments from others in the area. My dealer actually took it to a home and garden show before I took delivery - with my approval of course. It did turn quite a few eyebrows.

Did some finish mowing Saturday using a 72" rear discharge mower. Time for an upgrade. Who makes the largest 3pt rear discharge mower with the highest blade tip speed? I am looking at a Rhino FM100, with a blade tip speed of 16,700 FPM. Are there any others out there larger or with a faster blade tip speed? Does anyone make a 10' 3pt finish mower with high blade tip speed?

I was amazed today at how easily this tractor with a 400cx loader lifted a pallet of sod (2500 lbs) easily. I had to be careful because the tractor was a little tipsy (side to side), but moved about 6 pallets about 100 yards. I have held off on adding ballast to the rear tires because of not wanting to rut existing yards or graded yards while laying big sod rolls. Looks like I might need the additional weight. The 400cx is a monster. My last 4720 (non-cab) with 400x loader wouldn't even bulge a full pallet of sod.

2500lbs....WOW!

Do you have anything on the rear 3pt? You can always buy a big heavy box blade for ballast when you need it.

I had a harley rake on the back, approximately 800 lbs I am guessing. Still needs a little more weight on the back when working with a full pallet of sod. I don't need to lift them high, just move them around a little and probably won't have to move a full pallet much. I was just amazed how easily the cab 4720 with 400CX handle the pallets after not even being able to budge them with the non-cab 4720 and 400X.

That is amazing. I tell ya, some weight sure makes a difference. I have been putting my 5525 cab thru the paces (142 hours so far) and I still think I will upgrade my 4720 to a cab. I want to use my grapple bucket on both machines. It sounds like a 4720 cab with the 400CX is the way to go.
