Yeah, the age is really obvious this Winter, when the wind blows across the open salt water, while the furnace chugs $$$$ away.
Almost no insulation, and no reasonable way (single thickness walls) to add any.
Covid has me frozen here, as I am normally in FL each Winter.

Friend is a builder on Nantucket. Lots of good stories. He grew up on a golf course on the island. He honestly hits his drives way over 300 yards. Big hitter, like the lama.

The actual tiny historic village section of pinehurst is like that. No mail boxes, can't paint etc etc. My feeling there is, you know the rules going in!

It's hard to imagine that here in Oklahoma; we probably have a few homes built in territorial days, but a lot of them were dugouts and such. I suspect you could find a few built in the 1890's era though. My Grandparent's house was old to me, built in 1913.

According to Wikipedia though, he had "Marfan Syndrome" Marfan syndrome - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic and actually died of a ruptured aorta.
