Doing your own service in absolutely no way effects your warranty. Gosh.

The average, conscientious owner is the BEST person to perform these simple procedures. Don't really think the top mechanic is going to be pulled off a transmission job or tractor split to be a lube tech, do you? :laughing: Who's going to care for that tractor more than you?

Filters will cost you $100 give or take and the fluids more than $200. Can't say without knowing your capacities. Want to price the parts/oils on line? You'll know to the penny.

Didnt say it effected the warranty in any way. Just said it was documented at a dealership the first one was done and on time. And yes i do pull my mechanics off other jobs to do oil changes or ill do them myself it they are real busy.

Most guys buy their supplies at a dealership, save the receipts in the tractor service record. At least I do. Honestly, I sure don't make a photographic, evidentiary record though.

I just got a price on parts and oil. 411.24. Holy crap. He said I need to use SUDT is that correct?

You manual should tell you. Likely it says either. In my experience, the cold weather flow of sudt is so superior, that I'd use it. You won't have this expense again for something 3 years, so .....

Now, if the parts alone were over 400 bucks, you better understand why I said early on that if the dealer does it, it would approach a grand. With transportation, I still believe it.

Rule of thumb. Parts times 2. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

It cost me $500 for the 50 HR service back in 2004 for my L3130. I'm kind of surprised there is an L3130 around that is under 50 hrs.

My 50 Hr service on the B21 was done at the dealer for $350 in 2002 as he agreed to pick up our place 20 mi, and drop off the tractor at my FIL house in ME, where I built some walls near their shop (East Elloit Garage when they were in business) and then deliver it back to me! Larry was a great guy to work with..

I did the 300 hr service myself two years ago, took about 4 hours (3-2.5 gal SUDT was $210) then the filters air/oil/fuel were another $80.

Toughest part is getting the large Hydro filter off, then per others here, catching all the hyd fluid - a $4 plastic storage bin from Walmart worked for me..

I did the 50 hr service last night on my L4240HST. I also changed the hydraulic & fuel filters. The front axle was 2 quarts low so I topped that off while everything was out. I used Kubota filters & SUDT for the transmission & front axle and Rotella T 15W40 in the engine. $190.00 for everything. I did not drain the transmission prior to changing HST & hydraulic filters. I lost about 6 quarts & 1 tee shirt prior to getting the filters on. It took about 3 hours to do. I was lucky and didn't have trouble removing the filters that some others have experienced.

Front axle has fluid? I thought it was the rear? Yes mine is 4x4.
