50 hour service price from dealer in NH (L3130)

The front axle case on the L4240 - L5740 holds 9.5 quarts. It is supposed to be changed @ 400 hrs. I saw a thread earlier this year talking about them not being completely filled when delivered so I figured I'd check it. The thread also talked about what to put in it, SUDT, UDT, or gear oil(85W90 ?). I think the prevailing opinion was SUDT in cold weather areas & gear oil in warm areas.

Yes the front axle has fluid but no filter - most take about 2 Gal.

I just came back from the dealer and was told the axle drain plugs in the rear are the only ones you drain. Not the front as that is done at a later service. BTW why I got a better deal from a different dealer. 377.47 out the door with SUDT and a tube of grease for the fittings.

I bought my L3130 used with 432 hrs, but the previous owner gave the dealer the service records that he kept. In 2007, it cost $470.08 for the 50hr service. I will be doing all my own service.
