What is everyone's opinion on choosing a 5075m (premo cab) or the 5085e? Both would have the h240 loader but 75 is about 3k more than the e. Beyond that without consideration for overall size between the 75 and 85, is it worth it o go on to the 85m at an increase of about 6k?

What do you intend to do with it?

Run some 7' attachments. A cutter mostly of 30 acres.

I haven't checked recently, but several years ago when I was buying, the M's were a bit more heavy duty and had quite a few more features than the E's. I'm assuming that they are all cab models? The M had a much nicer cab than the E, but again, this was a few years back.

It's still the same, i've been drooling over a 75, be a great match for my 35 acres, had a 85 MF one time, it was a little on the large side, loved the 10' bush hog i sold with it though, should have kept it..

A 5E is built to mow 30 acres with a 7' mower a couple times a year. You are the customer JD designed and built the 5E limited series for. It should do everything you need it to and hold up well for years.

I'll be the first to admit that my 5055e sucks and I've had my fair share of headaches but nothing has led me to believe this tractor won't hold up to 1000+ hrs a year. My only regret is not getting an 85 or 100 which is built in Augusta ga vs India. You line an e and m next to each other I don't see how you figure the m would outlast the e?

I see e series tractors with 1000s of hours used by right of way cruise all the time that are operated by a body with no care for the machine and they are doing fine

I think I'm going to go with the m. My local dealer has a couple of 85ms but no 75m. We are down to about 5k over an 85e and 2k over a 75m. I know the 85m It's overkill for my current needs but just has so much more...cab mirrors, electric hitch control, auto 4wd, the gear shifter or your hand hits the console going to park, and it has a metal park frame so you know it is in park in those moments you get in a hurry when in and out of the tractor a lot. Just feels more comfortable.

Being the weather isn't good today, I may go across the line to look at a 75m in stock but for the difference between the two m models I think go bigger.

I'm a features guy so I totally get it. 2K isn't much when considering the total price.

Some people say features aren't important. I say it depends on how often that feature benefits you?? If it's almost every time you get on the tractor, it's very important. :)

Anxiously awaiting the decision and pictures!!!!

Before i bought my kubota M8540 i took a hard look at a 5065M (Money) series. I really liked the electric diff lock the fact that the ranges were also synchronized ranges. Electric over hydraulic 4wd drive that automatically engaged when on the brakes so you get front wheel braking. What i did'nt like was the fact that it cost $15K more than the kubota At that time the 5E (econo) series open station was made in India lacked a power shuttle and and really did'nt look like it was on par with the kubota.

If i was farming for a living i would have bought the 5M in a heart beat. I believe the 5E is now assembled in Georgia and offers a power shuttle on the open station. That said I'd still pick the Money series. The E is just to lack luster for my taste but there's definitely a market for both tractors

I went thru the same thing. I really liked the M series. But I really like my "M" series too.

It seems the M series Kubota has the same capabilities as an M series Deere, but at the price of an E.

I think that's a fair comparison. No brand flame intended at all. I have 3 colors in my shed.

As xring100 said, I started by trying to buy an M Deere. Finally the Deere salesman, whom I know locally, said if I were you I'd buy the Kubota.

Same capabilities but not many of the same features, the kubota is closer to the e in the comfort features in my opinion. Even the M5s while nice don't offer what the m Deere offers yet they currently cost little bit more.

Yes in the cab department, I think you are right. JD has always offered a premium cab on their top end tractors. Kubota is catching up though.

Being an open station guy, I was referring to tractor features.

Not knowing a thing about the Kabota, do they offer a rear fender 3 pt switch? I can't remember how many times i wish i had that.

The don't in the Utility M models. Not sure about the new larger AG tractors.

I use a QH on my M9540 so I never have a need for it.

Not on the smaller M's such as the 7060, 8560 and 9560. The M100GX and above have the 3 point switch and pto switch on the rear fender. My NH has a mechanical 3 point control at the rear which works great and it is a feature which few brands have.
