Oil & Fuel 50hr service & gripe about shop manual...

Here's the link a member had posted in the past. I downloaded for mine and it seemed like the same as my purchased Kioti manual. I couldn't find the parts manual so I just bought one. The download and site was safe.

Non of this is the fault of Kioti. Many people want service manuals so they "can do more" or like you, to do routine service. Service manuals are way more than that and over most peoples heads. Most of the routine service is addressed in O.M.'s..

Also, on returned manuals to the dealers, there get charged a restock fee to send back which isn't fair to them. I try to explain to customers what they are really getting in a service manual before they spend big bucks on one and then get disgruntled.

Gripe first - I gotta say I think it is RIDICULOUS that for approx $70 the flipping service manual does not actually LIST the DK50se, just the 35 and 40.

I'm also peeved it does not have a detailed "Maintenance" section. I was hoping for a little guidance to make sure a n00b like me did not miss something. Crappy Chilton's manuals are better. When I was in HS, I used to just borrow my step-dads Motor manuals and even as a punk I could do all regular maintenance, and brake jobs, remove heads to get valves done, etc.

This manual is full of data but not actually very useful in my opinion. I am sorely tempted to return it to the dealer.

So, can anybody give me a ball park on how long the 50 hr service takes? I am NOT replacing the hyd fluid until 100 hrs, but I am replacing the filter.

I just done my service again(150hrs) but just oil change,and hyd/trans filters.What my question is should I drain all the hyd.fluid(does it really need changed at 150hrs)it looks good as new.Tractor is shuttle trans kubota 5040.Reason I ask you said was going to do it at 100hrs

errrrr... unless im mistaking the manual calls for engine oil change every 100 hours or once a year. The transmission.hst oil at 50 hours then at every 400 hours.

I cannot speak to Kubota at all. Frankly I cannot speak for Kioti.

BUT, I'm at 60 hours now an someone I trust, whose name I won't reveal, said I couls SAFELY make it to 100 before changing the HST fluid AS LONG AS I replaced the filter and added UTF to fill the filter...

Make sense?

sure, you could probably safely wait till 400 hours. but i personally wanted to get that break down fluid out of my tractor at 50 hours. all the junk from a new transmission and driveline. no thank you. i dint want to risk my investment or warranty on 50 more hours of use.

Also. you need to have dated receipts showing oil and filters for warranty service in case of major problem. so beware.

I contacted Kioti to make sure the 50 hr could be done by me (as their manual states only a licensed dealership can do it) and they said no issues with me doing it BUT I HAVE TO keep dated receipts and list hours on them

i went to look, but for the DK45 its a 2006 download. And not the SE series.

The EX series on the Ausie site is close to our DK SE series.
