Kubota BX2200
Just bought a used BX 2200 and the owner could not find the operators manual. The tractor has 60 hrs on it and is due for the 50 hr svc. I do have a call in to the dealer (who has not returned my call yet) to see if they can get a manual.
So what is needed on the 50hr service aside from oil change? He has done no svc at all on it, to date. What type of grease is needed for the loader, what grade of oil for the engine, etc. etc.

You'll need to change the hydro fluid, hydro filter, clean the hydro screen, engine oil filter, as well as fuel filters. Clean the air cleaner as well.

The manual will give you the specs and capacities but it has been my experience that the volume conversions from metric to US are a bit off. Use the dipstick to give you the final indications of the unit being FULL.

Tractorsmart can provide you with the filters thru their web sit. They also will allow you to download a pdf parts manual for no $$.

Good luck!

Just noticed you are in Northern CA....if you get below freezing you might want to investigate the use of super UDT hydro fluid...... there are many threads and comments regarding the use of Kubota branded fluids versus Amsoil or other reputable companies. Got to do and use what you are comfortable doing!

Engine oil & filter 2.6 qts of SAE 10W30 or 10W-40 API CC or CD
Transmission oil & filter 2.7 gallons Kubota Super UDT
Transmission strainer not required to be cleaned but while the transmission is drained, it would be a good idea.

If you plan to DIY, I will post filter numbers and images from the owner's manual for you.

My bx23 may be different than the bx2200, but I am not required to change the fuel filter at the 50 hour service. I would recommend changing the front end oil. You can use super udt or 80/90 wt. gear oil in the front end only. Grease the hydro pedal at 50 hours also. Check the aircleaner and replace if you have an accumulation of dust.

I don't think your BX23 is different. The fuel filter is every 500 hours. I wouldn't do it at 50. I have 300 on mine and haven't done it.

Look at the fuel filters - yes, there's two - one under the tractor and one in the engine compartment. They may be gunky. They're cheap and if you don't know how your machine was treated before you got it, it's good insurance. I bought my bx2200 3 yrs old, 186hrs. The first time I reved it up to mow, it started stalling. Turned out the fuel filters had water in them that started growing stuff. God only knows how green stuff can grow in that environment. Replaced both filters and been running fine ever since. Enjoy your new ride! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My book says 300 hrs for the front axle fluid change. Of course, if you don't know the history or if you suspect the front end has been underwater, changing it would be good.

I just ordered the stuff for my 50 hrs service from Tractorsmart today: 3.5 gal Super UDT, 2 hydro filters, 2 engine filters (one spare each), and 2 fuel filters (for spares). With shipping, it was $125.

Hope it helps.

Toby, very good point about the fuel filter. The guy could have been running old fuel. RonR, The only reason I changed my front end oil early was the same reason that I changed the tranny fluid. The dealer recommended it to remove any manufacturing debris and it was inexpensive. But, to each his own.

At the 50hr service I would also make sure that the fuel sender has the factory retrofit kit designed to eliminate the fuel leakage that can occur when the tank is greater than 1/2 full and the tractor is on a grade. The Kubota p/n for this "Fuel Stay Kit" is K2561-96140 and is applicable to the following tractors/sernumbs (according to the info supplied with the kit):
BX1800D/50001 to 55350, 5A001 to 5A681
BX2200D/50001 to 67009, 5A001 to 5E062
BX2200E/10001 to 10595
