50hr service on BX2200??

May be the same problem, but perhaps a different retrofit part numb (?) for the BX22. It would be pretty odd, though, if they let the BX22 outta the factory with this same issue.
BTW, this problem has got to be one of the strangest things I've ever seen. After working with Japanese engineering companies for a number of years, I cannot quite fathom how they missed something like this. Pobody is nerfect, I guess. When I discovered this problem on my previous BX2200, I'm sure the neighbors could hear my lower jaw hitting the ground.

Thanks for the replys, I know the history of the tractor because I put about 12 of the 60 hours on it. Previous owner is a friend who is moving out of state to a bigger piece of property...so he needs a bigger tractor like an L series. He owned it for only about a year and a half. In that time he mainly used it for box scrapping and drilling a few post holes for planting trees, Oh yeah and I borrowed it from him twice /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif One thing that concerned me though was that it spent the year and a half outside under no protection at all. I think I will change out the fuel filters
Now, he did find most of the paper work but the operators manual that he came up with is for an L Series tractor (which he had previously owned) that he ironicaly traded in for this Bx. So if anyone wants to trade a L series manual for a bx2200's.... It's for the L3010,L3410,L3710,L4310,L4610
I think I'll just have the dealer do the 50hr service and check the tractor over as well. Maybe by the next service I"ll have a manual or a facimille.

Hearing that the your BX has been out side for 1.5 years, I'm glad that you have decided to have a dealer go over it. They might find things that you wouldn't think to look for.
Get a manual if you can, if not buy the shop manual it helps a lot.
I did my own 50 hr service, my dealer provided great advice and I followed what they do at 50 hours.
Changed: air, oil, hydro, and both fuel filters, hydro fluid (super UDT), front axel fluid (super UDT), and engine oil (used mobil 1 5w40)
Greased: hydro pedal, back hoe, and FEL (done every 10 hours as per manual)
Cleaned: hydro screen, and radiator.
checked: wheel torque (this was third time), coolant level and concentration, tire pressure, all hydraulic lines, fuel lines, all fasteners on tractor, hydro fan, sprayed battery terminals.
I should have sprayed some superlube or triflow on the FEl linkage and will from now on.

Talked to the dealer this morning. Says he can order the manual from the printer. I asked him how much for 50 hour service and he said $300-350... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif seems a bit on the high side to me. He said it would be about $150 in parts if I wanted to do it myself. I looked at tractorsmart and it looks like it may be more like $60-70 from them.

5-gallon synthetic hyd fluid
4-qts of synthetic 80w-90 gear fluid
1-gallon of 15w40 synthetic engine oil
1-kubota oil filter

If you perform the functions specified in the manual + the fuel filters, $75 would be about right.
If you get into extras, like gear lube, etc. (which is not a bad idea) you would be closer to $125
