Next I would check the solenoid on the transmission, and it's connector

Excellent thank you, I’m suspicious of something like this and not hung on the pressure washing. It had had a larger fuse installed when it had a similar issue years ago. (Idiot) I will attempt to get to it because it’s pretty tight. The only thing gentleman at the service counter at the dealer would identify yesterday was the neutral safety switch which he then said “you probably won’t be able to identify.” Thanks fella. They wouldn’t identify any other electrical components on the transmission and said they will gladly come out and repair it when I’m finished. A little bit of an unnecessary attack on my livelihood but it’s what I have come to expect from our friendly neighborhood John Deere dealer.

I'd let it dry out for a couple of days. I bet you forced some water into something that doesn't like water and got a short that will hopefully correct itself.

I’d rather find the smoking gun and correct the issue so this doesn’t happen with the machine on a jobsite. Were fortunate it’s at home and not currently needed.

Check for continuity from B to D when in neutral. This is circuit for neutral start. Power comes in D and B goes to neutral relay K16. I am assuming open station tractor? If so, is a flat platform tractor or straddle mount? Wiring varies depending on configuration.

I believe this clears the handle then I appreciate that. It’s an open flat platform machine.

Do you have 12 volts coming into reverser lever on pin D in connector? If so then next you need to remove connector from controller to see if power is making it to pin A4 on wire number 506 and also to neutral relay K16 terminal 56 also wire #506. Wire 506 also goes through 24 pin connector between console harness and chassis harness. Could be a bad connection there. Check pin #8.

I have a 5525 and if I am correct the issue is simple and it is in gear. You can not start it with the power reverser in forward or reverse and that is what the "N" blinking is telling you to place it in neutral. It operates like an old stiff tur signal, have three positions. Up is forward, middle is neutral and down is reverse. Can not remember if it being in a range with cause this issue but be sure the power reverser switch is in the middle position and range lever and also the gear shift lever and believe that will solve the issue.

If I am correct on the power reverser lever don't kick yourself. Had a person who owns JD tell me my tractor had issue as he failed to crank it. He forgot to check that lever. Hey, also check pto lever for it will not crank if it is engaged. If it has the economy pto it has two levers, don't miss one is the speed selector. It is the other think longer lever that engages the pto.

They are blessed to have a friend who can help and is willing to help with all they have going on. May God bless your efforts and ease their hurts.

I think I may get back to this tomorrow, I’ll double check on this.

Adjustments.JPG checked the neutral safety switch tonight and shoved it into the barn to pull the dash again when I get home from work. Also separated and inspected the 24 pin connector and all looked well. Will check for voltage at d terminal and double check through b for continuity tomorrow and voltage up to relay.

With key on... I unhooked the power reverser connector and I have no power at the reverser lever connector. Reverser lever ohms out good. Pulled lower fuse block and checked the backside and the fuses down there and connections are good. Checked neutral safety switch incoming and I have 12v on one side. I cannot ohm out neutral safety switch without pulling it. Jumping it has no effect though.

This issue has been isolated to the 10amp micro fuse F17 MFWD/FNR blowing instantly when the tractor is put in reverse. Having forward it just teaches us to currently carefully plan moves until I get to the root of this.

Loadstar
Stick a rigged 12v light bulb in the micro fuse slot such that a short will just show up as a lighted bulb.. until you track down the short causing the problem.

Nice way to clean up the hog for butchering.. FEL are priceless for so many chores.. lots of deer hanging off mine over the years.
