Stick a rigged 12v light bulb in the micro fuse slot such that a short will just show up as a lighted bulb.. until you track down the short causing the problem.
Nice way to clean up the hog for butchering.. FEL are priceless for so many chores.. lots of deer hanging off mine over the years.
That’s a great idea. I work with AC power mostly, DC is not an issue, but I don’t always have the tricks like that, thanks
. I quickly made one out of a clearance light I found in his barn and plugged it in. Bouncing in the seat with selector in reverse would illuminate the short light, but I didn’t feel it was the cause. I exported a little more and noticed moving around the pto lever would also set it off. I pulled the seat from the machine, the plastic lever shroud, and all the plastics from the left fender. I found the main harness is unprotected and has a major intersection of wires when it emerges through the operator platform. When I move the main harness around I’m getting the short at this location. It is very tight and best I can tell if I unplug the “PCM” and fuse panel I can slack the harness down enough to expose it after left rear wheel is removed. Will post pictures and updates as it occurs.
