55" or 60" Root Grapple EA vs MTL

I have the 60'' wicked on my MX5100. It has been a great grapple.I'm pretty tough on equipment. my mom use to tell me I could tear up a steel ball with a rubber hammer. So, when I had an issue with my grapple, Travis stepped up and took care of it. Will the others do this ?
I have also used this grapple on my 105HP tractor.

I'm really happy I saved and bought this grapple ! I have learned over the years that, Cheap ain't good and good ain't cheap

No doubt EA makes great equipment and Travis is a great asset to EA. But as soon as your order is processed by EA you will not hear from them again. So is it worth another thousand (or more) dollars for something you will use for a few years? I would say no. My cows do not care what my grapples look like. They are not as wicked looking but who cares? Make no mistake, if your buy EA you will get a very good product but you will PAY to have Travis answer the phone on the first ring and you will PAY for that fancy new factory. MTL will get you a lower priced grapple that will pick up your brush and wood just as well. You might need to wait for a call back or call twice. Just my :2cents:
.
This is a very good point and part of my decision making process but value is not always in the initial cost of something and value is not the same from person to person. I get very few opportunities to actually work around my house. It's usually just Sundays since I work 14 -16 hour days and I shoot pistol competitions every Saturday (This is my true addiction). I started loading ammo on a $350 progressive press and it would load about 400 rounds per hour and worked most of the time but sometimes it wouldn't. I bought a $2000 press and it will load about 1600 rounds per hour and works every single time. There is no difference in the quality of ammo but It was worth it to me because of the limited time I have. That is a huge consideration for me when it comes to buying anything. Will the MTL work every time I go out and will it be as efficient as the EA or will it be efficient enough? Since we all know that everything can and will break eventually, having someone answer the phone every time is a huge plus for me and the fact that they are 30 minutes away helps as well. It may be worth the extra 1k+. If I end up going with the MTL I'll definitely let everyone know what I think of it. Thanks.

Customer service means a lot when you need it.

Customer service means a lot when you need it.

Not much customer service needed after you buy the thing though. A grapple is a fairly simple piece of equipment. Like I said earlier, I have given MTL a bunch of money and have a lot of their attachments. No complaints. It is easier to get MTL by text a lot of times if you need.

Your post is one of the ones that is making me consider the MTL

trying to decide on pros and cons with 2 different grapples for a Kubota L3901 55 " EA Root Grapple vs MTL 60" RG anyone have experience with the 2 ? suggestions and opinions welcome. Thank you for all replies. A36 vs AR 450 steel.

On that Kubota your implement weight is going to matter. The MTL is heavier and when you don’t have a lot of lift capacity anyway every hundred pounds of weight savings counts. EA also pays attention to the details and their designs are well thought out. Buy once, cry once.

Very, very, very few TBN members are running grapples on a 105 HP tractor. Thank you for point out that EA grapples have problems. All grapples can have problems.
