Just got my 5570. I bought it from a a dealer in Michigan. 2015 with 219 hours. No loader.

It's been sitting for quit a while. Runs nice.

All manuals are on order. Just a few questions please...

Are there lubrication points that will make this tractor shift easier. I realize it's not a fully synchronized tranny (maybe I'm wrong there) but I think my shifter might be fighting me a bit.

Also are there any special procedures for putting it in 4WD? My 4WD T-handle moves VERY hard.

Where do you check hydraulic oil? Tranny oil?

I see a grease fitting on the front position of the hydraulic pump. What kind of grease and how often? ....please.
There is a fitting on the side of the tranny. Same grease I would think?

I'll read my manuals carefully when they come, but I'm itching to get out haying and brush hogging on this machine. Don't want to hurt it in any way.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Justin

Hey! As a side note. I bought a 6 Foot rotary mower from "everything attachments". Nice piece of equipment. 2,000 and free shipping to Vermont! image.jpgimage.jpg

I have owned a New Holland Workmaster 50 for a little over a year. Prior to that I owned a New Holland 1720 for 10 years. When engaging the front wheel assist you will need to preload the drive mechanism prior to shifting in and out of 4WD. When moving forward just engage the clutch and then shift into 4WD. It will off load the axle and shift easily.

Gotcha. You're saying it shifts in and out best if you are moving and with the clutch depressed. I'll try that.

My 5530 (previous gen to yours) sits outside and my 4wd handle gets almost impossible to switch back and fourth. The many leavers and change of directions are the problem. (along with lack of lubrication/grease points).

get your favorite spray lubricant, coat the linkages, and spray down the guide tube (tube that goes threw the floor board) for the pull handle, it should loosen up. It should shift fine after that.

as for the transmission shifting goes. When you are selecting a working gear (from a dead stop), make sure the last thing you shift is the shuttle....it will make a wold of difference. (no pulling/pushing needed).
For example select low range, select 3rd gear, then select forward.

if you are talking about hard shifting when running up thru the gears,(like roading it) then yeah, when the rpms are up there, the transmission is a little tricky to shift smoothly . Some practice will make it better, but still tricky. (when everything is in line it will shift smoothly).

the hydraulic dip stick is on the left side of the tractor(if you sitting in the seat). It is near the clutch linkage, and looks like a bolt that has a tall head.(a long hex ) Mine is painted red. it points up at a slight angle.

the grease fitting on the side of the tractor by the clutch is to grease the throw out bearing, I believe.
the grease fitting in the front of the motor that i think you are talking about is by the power steering pump I believe.I don't grease it to often(about once a month). I use Lucas red and tacky for all grease point on the 5530. When you get your owners manual it will show grease points and will list the type of stuff to use,,and times.

Enjoy the tractor, Mine has been a great work horse around the property.
