Just thought I would share some pictures of me putting out hay with my
5740C. I mow with a krone disk mower and bale with a Krone 125 baler. Mine is a 2006 model with close to 300 hours. I've had no problems and really enjoy my tractor, especially the Cab. I grew up on a family farm and all we had was open station tractors. After owning a cab, I'm not sure how people do it. I added some pictures.

I raise some purebred polled hereford cattle. I just weaned a hereford bull with a 205 wean weight of 690 lbs.

Thanks for the picture. Looks just like my 5740C with a round bale on the front. Are your rear tires filled? I do not fill mine and I have no problems, weight wise, with moving the big, heavy, round bales.

Uncle Buck

My tires are not filled either. Here in Central Va, it's fairly flat. A few rolling hills. I've only had one time I felt like I needed them filled and I was moving some dirt. I could have easily put a round bale on the back for a counter weight. It just took about 3 extra trips to get the job done and I carried less dirt.

Do you have R4's or R1's? I really like the R4's for my area. I feel like I get a lot less compaction on my fields and they seem to be a more comfortable ride than R1's.

Nice picture. I wish I had some hay to move. All I have is all this snow:D.

This past fall I did go down to my neighbors with my 4340C to see if I could pick up one of there big square bales. I think they were around 1200-1500#. Did it fine with no weight on the rear, but I don' think I would go across a bumpy field without some extra weight.

ScottFarm,

I've had R-4s on mine since I ordered it that way from the factory. Initially, the factory made a mistake and put those Ag tires on mine, but I had the dealer swap them out with the R-4s on another new 5740C on his lot, before it even left his place to be delivered to me. I just feel that for all around work, the R-4s were the best bet and I was right.

Our land here is pretty flat too, and I also handle buying, and then delivering, round bales for/to a couple of neighbors of mine down the county road with just a few head of horses or so each. For use on a dirt/rock county road, those R-4s wear the best. Ag tires would get torn up and wear quite a bit quicker. When I buy my 125 or so bales each year, I always include about 5 each for them. You know how it is with neighbors and these are good folks and good neighbors.

I also have a 5740C but with rear loaded tires.
Love it works great with the R4 tires. Loader attachments fall off with down pressure. Contacting dealer to advise him. Understand they have a upgrade.
Only have 90 hours.
