I'm wondering if anyone has experimented (or even considered experimenting) with leaving the brake piston retractors out of the brake pistons on any of these tractors? Having been into a few tractors for brake problems and knowing there have been questions about the effectiveness of them I've considered it a time or two but just couldn't quite get there. Always put them back in, just replacing them if I had doubts about the condition.

This type of brake was used for years without them and seems like they worked pretty well.

I would think brakes with retractors removed would operate similar to older utility tractors that rolled off assembly line from '65-'86 without retractors.
