Terry, it sure is looking like that 54" deck is going to be a better fit for me. Plus I also still debating on whether I will get a 54" or 60" BTW, what is the width of the 54" with the shoot flipped up?

I have to go out and measure. I'll try to do that when I get home from work tonight. Heck, might even have the chance to get a picture of the grommet installation as well.

Nuru,
The 60" mower is about 65" at the ground with the chute flipped up.
However, the chute only rotates up about 120 degrees and that leaves the sides sticking out about 12 inches off the ground. They still stick out to about 72 inches.
Removing four more nylock nuts takes the chute completely off leaving you with a 65-inch wide thing for transport, but I wouldn't mow with it like that.
Maybe you could rig up a way to make the hinge come apart and go together with a long pin for convenience.

However, I will get a chance to do it tonight. We're supposed to get a nice snowstorm tomorrow and I have to prepare to do battle!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif So, I'll get the messurements and photos.
Come to think of it, I have my MMM up on edge with the chute side down. I believe the hinge is attached a few inches back from the end of the chute. We'll know better later on.

keeney, thanks for the info. That is about 2 inches two wide for my trailer. It also probably is about $600 too rich for my budget. Hmmmm, rig my trailer, spend $600 more, or buy the 54", save the $600, and use that money to get somethin else, or save for a loader? Hmmmmmm

I so sorry that I took so long to get back to you.
The deck with the chute folded up is 58.5 inches. Attached is the picture I had been promising. It shows the chute being held back by the bungee cord with the hooks in the grommet I installed. When the MMM is on the tractor, the chute is held back better than 90 degrees. You will also notice that the chute is attached to the MMM about an inch or so back from the edge of the deck.
