Guys I bought some 6011s to use on less than perfect joints I've got and I feel like it's running super cold any thought. This is at 120 amps electrode positive it's very cold looking and **** to start.

What welder are you using? Some welders just don't have the voltage to run 6010, or 6011 very well.

It did a little better on the other side I slowed down on my pauses and let it burn in more.

That looks pretty darn good! I like Hobart's 335A 6011. It seems to stack real well for me.

Would there be any advantage to running them on the 6010 port on this machine?

I've never run a PowerArc 160. Don't be surprised if you have to hold a very close arc length, to keep the arc from going out. You have to do this with the PowerArc 200.

That's pretty much what I was experiencing.

It takes a little bit to get use to holding a close arc length. But once you get it, it works fine.
This 6-G pipe weld was done with the PowerArc 200.

Yall want to hear something funny?

My issue was I had 5/32 rods I was trying to run as 1/8. I kept thinking they looked big but convinced myself I had just forgotten since I hadn't run any rods in so long.

Yeah, 5/32 need more amps to burn in anyway. 160 amps isn't exactly burning hot for a 5/32 7018, though it is manageable.

It happens. My biggest issue is when I cross over brands with different flux thicknesses...I have to look at them close if I have them mixed in my can.
