The 5000 series is perfectly suited to the mowing jobs you're talking about. We mow steep mountain pastures, and we've put 400 hours on this new 5M since spring. Not 4wd either. Mostly mowing but also planting, road grading, cultivating, raking hay, and a little bit of hay mowing and baling.
Now for tillage, running a 10' mower conditioner over any significant acreage, or for efficient baler work a 6 series is better suited. Each can do the others work but that's a lot of machine to buy for mostly mowing.
I'm a big fan of this new 5M, but it is throwing some codes and there has been some delay in getting that info from the dealer. Machine sat for two days now, and that's a day and a half too long. Need to be able to read these codes ourselves.
