72 inch Rachet Rake on sale at TSC $199

I picked up a 72" RR last Saturday at the TSC in Sulphur Springs, TX. I spent most of the afternoon trying it out on the briars, vines and saplings on my place and was impressed with it's performance. The ponds were still low in our area due to the drought and I was able to work my way around the bank uprooting the cattails and back-dragging them out of the basin. The RR is definitely worth the $199.

I picked up one today at the Whitmore Lake MI store. They had all 3. Funny how the 72" was $199 and the 68" was $329. The 72 is one beefy piece of steel. I could hardly pick it up to unload it off the truck. I was concerned that straps running under the bucket would soon get sheared off, but what you get are steel cables and clevises for attachment pieces that run under the bucket. The straps run over the top of the bucket.

I scanned the description and usage instruction sheet that came with it and have it attached. It fills in answers to the questions I had about the use of the upper teeth, etc.

Mine was a soggy rust permeated mess. I managed to gently pry it apart enough to see enough of the hookup directions (I had to guess where and how the protective sleeve was used) to get it attached.

I was going to ask if somebody would scan their directions so I could read the "how to use" section, and here it is, you read my mind!

The Zachary store just a few miles north of BR had one last week. You may have already called them but there number is .....
The sku # 1125031.
I know it was there because I went to the store for something else and I saw it. Most of the store people do not know what they look like. It was outside with the rotary cutters and other implements. Some of the other TSC's have them inside.

Thanks again Bdavis. That is the store I called. They are willing to send it to the Covington location whenever a truck comes by. (a week or two) That's pretty nice of them. Now I'm just waiting for that to happen.

Wow Rdrancher that driveway came out nice. I can't wait till spring to work mine. Must be nice having good weather at this time of year ours has been wet and now the snow is coming tonight which we are well over due for. Maybe I'll have to rake some snow, haha!

Thanks! After two days of rain the flex base material, which is just fines and pea gravel, was actually too wet to grade...for my tastes anyway. The customer wanted it done NOW so I got it done. I'm sure the RR will work even better in dryer material. I'm doing a larger and much dryer driveway tomorrow, with a new 30x60 parking area that's grass so I'm looking forward to seeing what the RR will do.

I stopped by the TSC in Burlington, NC and they had two 72" left. They only have 1 left now as I bought one. They also had the 52" but since it was $299, I figured the extra width wouldn't hurt anything. I just have to figure out the mounting points now.

It will fit in the back of a BWM 1 series :shocked: with the seats laid down. Wife wasn't to happy but ohwell. I only get to drive it on the weekends as I work out of state during the week.

Picked-up the only one in stock at their "TSC" Sioux Falls, SD location. I have a JD 419 FEL for my 04' JD790, the bucket inside dimension is 61" so I'll be looking at the strap hooks in the spring (have JD59 attached at the moment)since some posts suggest you really need a total of 61.5" for clearance. Having not really looked at it, perhaps I can attach something like a chain shackle with a screw pin to each outer bracket then go from there to achieve clearance enough for the hooks......thumbsup:

For you folks with smaller buckets (less then 66" or so), having a weld/fabrication shop move one (or both) of the outboard brackets would still be a cost effective move.
