Thanks for the update and new pictures. It's a beautiful building and a lot of fun to see your progress. Congratulations on your 52nd anniversary!!! My parents are your age and just celebrated their 52nd in July. There was a time when I thought 70 was old, but seeing how my parents can still work outdoors all day long and get more done then guys a half their age, I think it's more of a mindset then anything else. They get up a little slow, but once they get going, there isn't any stop in them!!!

This brings us up to mid November, 2012.

Battens on south wall done.

Gutter brackets and four inch downspout.

Hole cut and edge rolled with ball peen.

Real nice four inch oulet box.

Installing six inch gutter.

South side done.

Weather here in Nov. has been good, as is today, so need to get off this computer and out to the barn.

Thank you for posting the pics. I'm only 52 and I can't move at all in 27 degree weather. Might have something to do with all the bones I broke riding motorcycles in my youth....

First off we want to thank all of you that have been following this thread and for all the nice replys.
They mean a lot to us.
Also to take this time to wish every one happy holidays.
The weather up until Sunday had been great and we had been able to make some progress.
Sunday we got a strong storm with high wind and hail. Rain was actually going sideways and into
the back of the barn. No real damage done, just a mess to clean up.
Now the high today was 38 and going down to mid twenties tonight.

Couple more update pictures from the project.

North side gutter with temporary downspout to enable us to build the wall behind it.

Treated sill plates to start the framing.

Man door framed.

This gets us up to the end of Nov. 2012.

Perhaps this winter you can write a book about your barn project and sell it on the Web. The book could be part inspirational and part DIY.
