7235 &7275 Motor breaking and excessive clutches

Hi,

Ive got a 1998 7275 FWA with a front end loader, I bought it used from a case IH dealer 4 years ago, it was a trade in from a land scaping outfit, it had 1400 hrs on it when I bought it and it was abused, it has 1870 on it now. I have replaced the front wheel bearings on both sides, and had to have the loader frame rewelded twice from digging up medium size sweet gum tree stumps (my fault) the motor mounts do vibrate loose occasionally but the tractor has performed well, cranks every time runs smooth and does what I want, I also have a case IH 685 (**** fine tractor) and a old Kubota l210 (it sux hard to crank etc.) Ive spent more on this tractor than its worth. I like the cub and case Ih, the case will drag my father inlaws new Deer all over the place and still have fuel in it when its over. But its just preference really, do I think Kubota or JD are bad? no! but I wont buy another Kubota. But the local cub dealer sucks on the big stuff but are good on the lawn mowers, they act like you are speaking russian when you say "I have a 7275" but Ive got the internet and a good case IH dealer that helps me out alot.

Cub Tech I am looking to add a 8454. I asked about the Daedong air filters and was told $2?.00 for the inner and $2?.00 for the outer. Prices were from the same dealer that charges me 75.00 for the Mits. air filter. This tells me Mits. is slaming all Cubs that are the 7000 series. You said cross ref numbers were easy to get and now you are saying you can't give them to us. Many of us are brand loyal and are concerned with quality of maint. that we perform on our tractors. What could be wrong with releasing just the air and hydraulic filters on the 7360ss. Show a little good will after you said they were so easy to find and now you won't release these cross ref. numbers. Mits. has a lot more money than us poor old country boys. This might even be a little ray of sun for the Cubhater. Please help!

WEll, the only numbers I can give you are MITS #'s.

7360 Serial 21848 & Above
AIR FILTER - MA-35530501800
HYD FILTER - MA-10312518000

7360 Serial 21847 & Below
AIR FILTER - MA-10310511200
HYD FILTER - MA-10312518000

I dont have cross reference numbers. I just have MITS #'s.

Dealers are paying about $60+ for these filters from the manufacturer.

First, I'd like to say "Hi" to Hacksaw830 and Antigonish. Now I'd like to tell you all that even after all this talk about engine bolts working loose, my comments included, that I took a few minutes the other day to check Lucy's. OOPS! Lower front right was backed out to where just the hydro line was keeping it from falling completely out. Both rear rights were loosening. All tight on left. FYI, rears are 3/4" or 19mm, fronts are 11/16" or 17mm. Torque in the 80# area. This has become quite a thread, too bad to stop now! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Am glad you found those loose bolts before anything happened. There is my little ray of sunshine Chubby was talking about. If this thread saved one tractor owner all this grief of rebuilding a motor, then it was all worth it.

Hi back,

Just keep an eye on those frame bolts and she should work fine, also if you need front wheel bearings you can get them from a bearing outfit like American Bearing just get the numbers off of your bearings and they can give you the same thing by the way Cub bearings are about $75/ American Bearing was $36 same make number and everything only difference was the AB bearing was a sealed bearing that I just removed with a pocket knife. O'yea this time I put lock-tite on my threads I'll see how that works.There is a thread about filters from case IH, I've ordered mine yesterday and will pick them up tommorow I sure hope they work the thread says they cross with mitsu numbers, I know that mitsubishi built some of the case IH small tractors so its probably the same thing, anyway they are about half of what Cub wants for thier filters.thanks Hacksaw /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wow, what the heck have I been missing out on while I've been busy. I have a 1995 Cub 7275 with a loader on it and 2450+ hours on it. I bought it used and do not know its history. I can tell that this machine has been apart by the missing rubber parts when they put the body back on. I too have the loose block bolt problem on my machine. Yes, I do tighten them up all too frequently. This question is for Cub Tech1. Why were owners of these tractors not notified about this so called reinforcement for their tractors? Also, is Cub paying to have these installed on tractors that do not have them yet? Will Cub Cadet ship owners of these tractors the kit so we can install it ourselves before we break our blocks. I love my little Cub. But if Cub doesn't care about us, then she just may go bye bye and I'll buy me an orange machine to replace her. I've seen this question about the kits asked during this thread a few times Cub Tech1. You have not answered it yet, Why???? How can I see a copy of this recall or tech letter?

Here, let me paste it for you.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( OK, First thing... there is nothing wrong with the Frame Brackets. What you need to do is apply some Loc-Tite and then periodically check them. Yes, its called Maintenance. Before and after each use you check the tractor over for anything loose or damaged.

Why were the brackets introduced? Because OWNERS were overloading the loader and guess where the weight goes? Straight to the frame. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. So, when the loaders were added and people got to using them they found out that when they overloaded the loader it would bend the frame. It would actually break the tractor almost in two.

So the brackets were introduced. An easy fix. Why are they coming loose? It's called vibration. The fix is called Loc-Tite. Problem Solved.

If you have a problem with your tractor.. see your local Cub dealer.

Why didn't CUB notify you? This is not a recall. Dealers were notified.

You can threaten to take your unit back and buy Orange all you want.. .thats like me threatening to goto another message board. hahahahaha.

and CUBHATER, i had the part your tractor was waiting on nextday'd to the dealer.

I asked if the kit was available for people that own these older tractors so we can add it on. I can't take my 1995 back to the dealer, I like it. I just want the kit that Cub made to help fix this problem. I keep my bolts tight so that is not an issue. I want the kit to help keep the stress down. Now, can you please answwr answer my question?
