I am trying to make a choice between the 7500 and 2410 (unless someone has a better idea). I plan to buy a Kubota FEL and a Woods BH. I have 3 acres and a new house which needs to be landscaped. Very little (likely none) stump pulling, just a lot of shaping the yard, digging underground wires, spreading stone and loam, etc. Once I've got the yard together, I would like to purchase a MMM and a rear snowblower and will basically just maintain the property, garden, small projects, etc. Any help with advantages/disadvantages, general advice would help. Thanks.

the 2410 will give u a few more hp and a few extra goodies but the 7500 should do all that u want. NOW about the BH! i am never one to tell a man not to buy an implement but form your post it seems like a lot o$$$ to dig a few lines. and then not need the BH again. ever consider buying th 2410 without the BH and hiring or renting a BH to dig your lines? and spend the$$$ saved on other implements if u need them.

8561,

Welcome to TBN!

I have a Kubota B2910 with a Woods 7500 backhoe. Here's my $0.02.

IF you're definitely going to get a backhoe, I would compare the B7500 and the B7800/B2710/B2910. The reason being is that the upper end of the B series can handle a larger backhoe (Woods 7500) than the lower end (Woods 6500). That was one of my main reasons for going with the B2910. (The others were additional loader capacity and all those back-saving/protecting conveniences of the B2910. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

A backhoe is a great implement, but in all honesty, I think many of us on TBN feel that it generally doesn't pay for itself. It's nice to have and worth it's weight in gold when you need it, but over the long run renting or hiring the job out is probably more cost effective. Of course, if you're like me, you hate to pay other people to do stuff you know you can do with the right tools, so I like to buy the tools. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Unless you needed the bi-speed turning option of the B2410, I don't see where the B2410 would be a significant jump up from the B7500, especially where the backhoe is concerned. They are both rated to take the Woods 6500. However, there is at least one member here on TBN that has a Woods 7500 on his Kubota B7500 and says it works well.

Feel free to ask us questions, that's why we're here. Also, you should find a lot of good information if you do a search on the various backhoe related topics.

Good Luck.

I know it is a mistake to reply before reading to the end of the thread...but I can't help myself!!!

Of course I have a better idea. By a b2910 [or maybe a b7800].

That is what I did and no doubt in my mind I did right.

The increase in price is not that much more...and you get more trator. OK..why stop at the B2910??? Each step up gives more... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

But I was very happy with my decision...

Then again...this year I bought a BX2200 to acompany the B2910...

Mabye a b2410 would have been the happy medium after all...

Well...I tried to help... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thanks guys, for the advice. If I'm reading everyone right, the concensus seems to be by the 7500 is sufficient unless I am willing to spring for the 7800/2910. As far as the backhoe, you're probably right, it just seems like I would have regular uses for it. I also should have mentioned that my father will likely borrow it next year to dig footing trenches for a small house addition. I know it will take a while but he's retired and would enjoy it, and he lives near the ocean and the digging where he is would be easy.

I'd love to hear from anyone else, as like everyone, I hate to make a mistake and get the wrong machine. I know the 7500 is very popular, I'm wondering why anyone is buying the 2410 or 2710.

Have you considered a power trac?

I have driven both the B7500 and the B2410 and to me they feel about the same as far as power. I would suggest the B2910. It is a great tractor. It has plenty of power. If you plan on spending a lot of time on the tractor the B2910 is really comfortable and user friendly. I would compare the B7500 and B2910.

I feel the 7800 is the best value in the B's (but a little hard to find) Its the same tractor as the 2910 minus a nicer seat extendable links and has a diffrent cruise control but its more than 2000 dollars less.

stvman,

The "real world" difference in price should be about $1500-$1700, depending upon the deal....maybe even better if you go in wishing for a B7800 but agree to "settle" for the B2910 they have on the lot "for the right price". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway, with my back, I think the extendable lower 3 pt. arms, sway adjusters and suspension seat are worth the extra $$$.
