Just got a new to me Kubota B7100 HST 4x4, so the Satoh has got to go. Im not sure if theres anyone on here who is local that would like to buy it, but its listed on cl for $6500 and well see how low I get beat down. Im guessing whoever buys it will not care about the PTO reverser so maybe theres someone here who is interesed in buying it. It has fresh synthetic rotella hd tractor oil in it and I havent used it much, but it works for sure. Ill post something in the classified section as well, but most people who might see this would be interested if they dont have one already.

Pulled a Satoh Beaver III ( K3A 3 cylinder ) out of field after it was left stilling for 8 to 10 years. Cleaned the fuel tank (removed rust & water, did not have a fuel cap on the tank for years) and replaced fuel bowl & filter. Changed oil & filter. cleaned out the fuel lines and bled air out of injectors. Heated up the glow plugs and cranked for less than a minute and it started with little trouble. Was thinking I am lucking and have a tractor that can be cleaned up and be put back in service. Over the next few weeks I starting the engine a number of times and ran it for maybe a total of 15-30 minutes without issues. Once I got from tires replaced to was time to take the tractor for a long ride ( I hoped ) and check out the gear box. Engine ran normal for about 5 minutes and then started slowing down then stalled. Was able to restart but is again stalled in 10-30 seconds. Engine was not hot just starting to warm up but could still hold the rad. hoses. In order to get the tractor back into the shop I had to keep power in the glow plugs or the engine would stall. By keeping the power on the glow plugs I was able to keep the engine running for about 2 minutes then it stalled again. Seems like a fuel problem but why did keeping power on the glow plugs help keep it running? Check the new fuel filter it clean. Open the bled screw at the injector pump and fuel flows freely from the pump's bled screw ( does not seem to be a fuel problem ). If I let the tractor sit for 30 minute it starts right up like normal then starts to slow down the stall in 10-15 seconds. If I keep the glow plugs (ON) then the engine can be made to run about 1 to 2 minutes before it stalls. Any ideas on the cause of it stalling? Could I have a low compression issue or broken / stuck rings? Do not understand how it ran so go for the first 15-30 minutes then when downhill so fast.

You might try checking the fuel injector pump, and the fuel injectors. You should clean them both out with fuel injector cleaner. Soak them overnight and use air to blow it out, but do not use any abrasive tool on any part of those things. You can do a pop test to check for proper spray pattern of the injectors. The fuel injector pump i never had to mess with on mine, and i sold my tractor last year to buy the kubota, so i cant really go look at it to see what to do. Id refer to a maintenance manual or hopefully someone with a beaver currently can help a little better than I can. Seems you got too lucky initially so Murphy has to make you pay now, lol. Just keep at it and dont give up, youre so close.
