I have the same remote fel control as stef, its way more comfortable to operate than the standard kubota joystick, its standard on all 3030 factory cab models.

Ronjhall, I think there's a small difference. The remote is 100$ more. But I didn't pay it. I told my dealer that I wanted my B3030 with a remote joystick nothing else. So he delivered my B3030 with the standard valve and changed it afterward when he received the remote. I think I'm lucky because I got the chance to try both. I knew a remote was possible because a cab version was coming on the market few month later. That's why the remote joystick arrived later (same time as the cab version). My dealer didn't want me to wait to get the tracor because of the missing joystick. So he changed it... like two or three months later. Usually this is not an option nor an upgrade kit. Loaders come with a choice of valves because there are two version of B3030: cab or not. So if you want a remote, you better say it to your dealer before the deal is closed. That way he'll order the loader with the right valve.

When I decided to change my former BX23 for a bigger tractor, I've looked at JD and Case. They both have their loader joystick near the operator seat. Unfortunatly, Kubota's have their standard joystick and valve beside the dash. I hope one day, they'll mount the FEL valve like a JD (beneath the deck) with the joystick near the operator seat. It's so much more comfortable when you do a big day of loader work because you can rest your elbow on the arm rest and control the loader with the same precision than a standard joystick. I don't know, the position seems more natural. With a remote joystick you drive your tractor like you drive a car with a manual tranmission (the right hand always on the shifter. OK, this is not the safest way to drive, you should have both hands on the steering wheel but who drives like that? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif). So you run the tractor with the right hand always on the joystick (when the loader is mounted on!)because... it's right there. Ok guys, focus!... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif we're talking about tractors here /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif .

Well said stef, let me add that there is also a small slide lock on the remote. The remote does restrict room getting in & out of cab models on the right, (small price to pay) myself, im supersticious, like a horse, i always mount my tractor from the left. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

kingoflawns, you're right for the lock and the restriction on the right side.

That's funny because I do horseback riding and I always mount my tractor from the left. I guess it's an habit. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nonetheless, I think that the right way to get on a tractor like a B3030 is by the left side. As you can see on the pic, I added a step aid (usually used in winter with my snowblower because it's not compatible with the MMM) on the left side. It's only avaiblable for the left side. So I think it means something and I'd say that it's not safe to mount a tractor from the right side while it's running and it's equipped with a loader: it's too easy to move the loader just by hitting the loader control with a leg or by grabbing it with your clothes. You could use the lock... but who locks his loader control each and every time he get on and off his tractor? As for me, I'm not a good exemple to follow, I always let my tractor on mid-gear (I had to put my former BX23 on neutral every time I wanted to start it). It's not rare that I mount my B3030, start it, raise the throttle, do what I have to do, park the tractor, lower the throttle and stop the engine... Hey! I didn't even touch the gear shifter.
