7800 VS 2630 - 3030

Here's something to consider. I have a B2910 with the extendable arms. When I first got the tractor I used the extensions all the time. Then when I got a concrete floor in my new barn I built dollies for all my attachments, and I can't remember using the extendable arms for anything since. If your circumstance is similar to mine, the arms may not be necessary.
BTW, I looked at a new B3030 w/cab today, and all I can say is "I'm in love". That is one sweet tractor. My salesman is coming out to look at my tractor to give me a trade-in value next week. The down side is that there is nothing at all wrong with my tractor after over 800 hours. So I know that it's going to be almost impossible to get that purchase past the "Banking Commitee". Oh well, maybe I'll have to start playing the lottery. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Did you investigate the 3030 well enough to tell me what the differences are between it and your 2910???? I might find a used 2910 at a good price but don't want to miss any differences in bells and whistles. Thanks for your help.

Outside of the cab, and the obvious differences related to it, the first thing I noticed was the absence of the clutch pedal. The Pto's are hydraulic activated. There is a small pedal in place of the clutch pedal that releases the lock to move the steering wheel up and down. The cruise control and 3PH handles are similar, as are the brake pedals. The 4WD lever has been moved down off the fender. The speed pedal is a one piece unit rather than 2 different pedals (I haven't made up my mind whether I like that or not). It has a cup holder, and it's supposed to have a larger tool box. It still has 3 speed ranges but with only one neutral. I think the engine sounds a little louder and more powerful than mine, but they both have the same HP rating. The power steering is a real power unit rather than using the tractor hydraulics. The hood is a little bit easier to see over, but not much. The front grill has the fine mesh on the outside of the grille, which makes it a lot easier to clean weed seeds etc. from the grill. The seat on the B3030 I drove seemed loose, but that may have been an assembly error. The dash layout is a little different but has the same info.

If I were in the market for another B2910, and found a good used one, and also a new B3030 w/o a cab, I would definitely buy another B2910 as I don't think there are enough differences between the two to justify the trade up. BUT, if I had the option of moving up to a B3030 w/cab, It's a done deal.
