Here's a little "need to know" information on box-store insulation.

They have competitively priced insulation that is specifically R13 or R15 for 2x4 16" on center walls. EVERYTHING else they have is overpriced.

Price out the materials and then call a contractor for a quote. I promise you that your 24" on center rafters will put you into an expensive roll at the depot. Either call a wholesale insulation center yourself, or find a associate that installs for a living. You would not believe how many people can buy the insulation and have it installed by an installer for the same price that you would purchase the materials alone for at a box store.

I agree. an insulation company will supply and install cheaper than you can buy it at HD. I know this was a fact when I built my house.

Your project looks great. I do have a question regarding the concrete floor. One of the photos shows the base, apparently crusher run. What was your approach thereafter. How much thickness did you pour. What precautions did you take at the perimeter. Is frost/freezeing and issue in your area?
Thanks

For the floor I layed down between 2" and 8" of 2b modified stone. The back left corner of the garage was higher then the front right even after digging it out with the tractor. After that I laid down plastic covering the entire floor then I laid down a 4' perimeter of 1"' thick foam except where the vehicles will pull in and out. I was afraid the weight of the vehicles would crush the foam thereby cracking the concrete. The concrete was a 4" pour of 4500 psi mix with wire grid laid in and stress cuts connecting the posts. Frost is a problem here as I am located in central Pennsylvania. I am not overly concerned about heave since I will have a gutter on the back (uphill) side and I buried a perforated pipe on the uphill side which drains out along the front (this was buried in stone).
