bought it used. dealer called me friday and said he had a 8ft blade that was in really good shape, so today i went to look at it.
the paint is barely scratched up and the stand has a bend in it at the very top so for being an '04 model, I paid $750+tax. He has a new one on the lot for $1,300

Now all you need are top and tilt hydraulics to be able to adjust that blade on the move. You got a good deal, you should be happy with that blade.

I just bought a new 7ft blade for my mx5100 as well, its from bush hog, paid $1200 for it, and as far as the hydroulics go, I called my dealer and he quoted me $350 for the cylinder, fittings, and hoses. Was looking thru catalogs and there was too many to choose with different lenghts throws to them, so just called dealer, and he was cheaper in the long run.

just a note: anytime you have a blade, ft. or rear, extending out beyond a relatively narrow width tractor like the MX, beware of trees, fence posts, & other obstructions! it sure will mess up equip. & pose a safety hazard. for this reason i went with the 72" bucket rather than 84" on my larger M series tr. just a word of precaution. good luck

Easier yes, well maybe. But cheaper, not if you had looked a little harder. :(

Bought a woods HBL96

Congrats on the new blade. I am sure you will enjoy.

King Kutter blades are junk in my opinion. Used a 7 footer on my 8N for 2 years, then bent the mounting bracket. Got a Land Pride 7', it was nice. Moved it to my L3940 and added hydraulic angle myself. Philip.

I disagree about them being junk. I have one. 7' behind my L3400. $400 used. I doubt even the OP's MX5100 would hurt it, let alone your 8n or GrandL

PHILIP Its KING KRUTTER get it right ! :D
I agree unless there The Pro Series there are junk.IMHO also.

I just hate this brand bashing. Calling a king kutter junk is nonsense.

Like anything else, you get what you pay for. KK is NOT the only company that makes light ~250lb blades. Those are really designed for very SMALL tractors and/or snow removal.

But a 250lb blade from ANYONE and put it behind a ~35HP 4x4 and you are going to bend and break things.

It isnt KK's fault people dont choose the right blade for their application and tractor because they didnt want to spend the $$$ to get the right equipment.:confused2:
