8N/9N Combo?

Someone noticed my 8N had a 9N casing on the back end and asked me to post more pictures. That was awhile back- I finally go around to posting a 360 degree view. You probably will need to zoom in on your computer to see the pic.

Model # is in the 520,000 range. Has 4 gears, 12V conversion, side distributor.

I'm curious if anyone can find any other irregularities or 9N parts on my so-called 8N tractor - other than the paint color.

Yep.. that center housing on the rear deffinately looks 9n/2n due tot he lack of ears. I can't remember.. do you have the 8n pump and top cover, or the 9n pump and top cover. The center housing is essentially the same for the 9n/2n/8n, save cosmetic differences. Either pump/topcover assembly will fit any housing..etc, as long as you keep the 9n/2n pump with a 9n/2n top cover, and an 8n pump with a 8n top cover.

If your topcover has the small 3" draft control handle as well as the big hytrol handle, then you have an 8n top cover. If no draft handle.. then you have a 9n pump and top cover setup.
