Hopefully it gets fast tracked for the human diseases,
I wander which of the big drug companies will buy this up. Develop a cure for the animals and put the human cure on the shelf for awhile then charge mega bucks for the human cure or milk it by making a treatment to keep the disease in check at an expensive monthly cost.

That was years ago, articles by Dr. Bastian were published in 2014.

Fast forward to 2018, just reviewed a few recent studies from Vaccine journal. It doesnt look like they have made much progress overall. Mean survival times are not significantly different between control and vaccinated elk subjects in the study.

If his dad had MCD (vCJD in humans) the CDC would know and only 4 cases have been in the US

I saw no new peer reviewed journal articles from Dr. Bastian, which means there is no real evidence based research on the topic yet. I would not hold my breath.

What most dont understand is just how difficult it is to get from research discovery to a final product that can be used in real animals or humans. Thousands of research drugs and vaccines never pan out.

Remember Barry James Marshall & John Robin Warren discovery of Helicobacter pylori as a cause for peptic ulcers were rejected in the 80’s and it took a long time for the medical community to accept their findings. They got the Nobel prize in 2005.

See, that there is another problem.... someone else already got a nobel prize for concluding prions are the cause of mad cow disease. Stanley B. Prusiner - Wikipedia This new theory would negate that theory.

The nobel doesn't always get it right. And in science, it often leaves out most of the people that worked on the issue.

There's plenty of problems with the nobel system.
