Just watching and my back got sore too and there is still more to come!:D :D :D

I miss my big tractor:( The TN with 3-14 gets the job done but not as nice as the 7710-II with cab and 4-16. I have 34 acres plowed and need to do 6 more acres for sure (maybe more). I started discing today and went over 15 acres once so far. I am hoping my father finishes the other 19 acres for first pass as I am getting sore breaking the first pass.

Excellent video. It's a pleasure to how a pro does his plowing chores.

I am far from a pro but I do love this work. I learn something new every day.

Robert,

Nice to see that you're recovered enough to the point that you can actually get any work done!!!!! From the way it sounds, you're well on your way to being healthy again. When's the next roofing job? LOL

Honestly I wish I could still do roofs. I really did enjoy shingling (not tearing). But as of now it is hard for me to work 4 hours standing up and being hunched over to toss shingles would be impossible for me. I feel bad for my father though as we can not find reliable help. The guys who are reliable are scared of heights so they are useless on roofs and siding jobs where we are working on picks. And the guys who are good enough to warrant being paid well to toss shingles usually leave to make the "big" money by starting their own roofing business. I just hope we can expand are farm enough to get away from construction as much and just do a few jobs here and there when the farm work slows down.

As of right now, I can work four hours in the morning, take a break, work a few hours after lunch (if I can sit on a tractor that is), then work a couple hours after dinner (usually fixing up the lawns between here and the appartments). I am sore as heck at the end of the day but the work needs to get done and being laid up for 6 months has really put me behind schedule:(

Well, hopefully I can get another video of the TN pulling a 12' disc for you to watch tomorrow also.

And welcome to the future, if you are lucky your town will pipe in natural gas so you can stop rubbing those sticks together for heat:D

Here are a couple pics and a video from today. The TN is muddy because it hasn't learned how to float over wet spots yet:eek:

Great pics Robert, it looks like the disc is doing a good job of cutting the ground up. How many hp is your NH that you are using to pull the 12 ft disc?It has rained close to six inches in the past week so my field work has come to a stop, I'm wondering if I can get my beans planted by June!!

That's a TN65 correct? It seems to do a great job pulling that disc.

Mark is right, it is a TN65. I can't remember the exact number but it is somewhere around 47-52 pto hp. The TN doesn't like the 12' disc on rough ground or sloping ground but it does the job. I have a 10' International disc also but that one needs some repair before it goes back to the field and I didn't have the time to fix it up yet.

We finally received some rain here and we needed it. I was worried about my hay fields for a while. The only thing growing well so far is my Alfalfa. I hope in a few days to finish disc the fields and start planting corn this weekend.
