As AGVG explained, European tractors are nothing like our simple field tractors. First thing I noticed about them is that they will haul butt down the road. Now tractors are offered with that option here in the U.S.

Not sure why you think these tractors need a boost in HP? I couldn't clearly see any numbering on them but they are probably 350HP tractors? The grader I run is 255HP and under the conditions in the video it would easily push the blade at 28mph which is it's top speed.
Think most are in the 150 to 250hp range, but they get larger by the year.

So it doesn't take a lot of HP.

Thanks for these posts and information.

250-350 hp is getting somewhere. That 5820 in the first post is only 88hp. My JD310 was 95 hp and could only maintain about 15 mph up grades. My 366 gas burner truck known far and wide for being gutless pigs could add 17,500 pounds of truck and trailer plus the backhoe and move twice that fast up hills. 88 hp doesn’t take you very fast up hills much less pushing a snow plow. The 1980s 6.2 diesels probably the weakest trucks ever built had more power.

I guess I'll simply go with the experienced. If they prefer tractors over trucks, there must be a valid reason. For me, I would most definitely prefer the tractor.

Tractors are much smaller in size, they are quite capable off road and in difficult circumstances it's much easier to work on very steep and narrow roads. Before tractors people used very short trucks with 4WD and often a large concrete weight bolted on. A very useless truck for anything but plowing but in difficult conditions it was all there was. A firm I was working for used Mercedes-Benz Unimog for plowing but those trucks is not cheap to put it mildly, and in the summer it just was parked as it was not much worth as a truck for transport. To day all those roads are plowed whit 200 - 300hp tractors.
