Go to some of the online equipment classifeds. The most popular brand is Morooka; now owned by Komatsu I think.

I want one too... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Scott my older brother had a few of these tracked dumps in his dirt moving businesses, I think Morooka was bought by Mitsubishi, or IHI. We had a small Morooka and Yanmar the Yanmar had tires though 8 wheel drive with 2 steering clutches. THe run thing about it was it was a direct drive power shifft and had a 3 speed transmission perside. Fun to put it in revers on one side and 3rd on the other. We used them in tight spots for dumping gravel or hauling spoil out of steep slopes to save trucks. I liked the Morooka because the seat swiveled to a set of rear controls when backing into a narrow alley or a tight hill.

( Probably a "non union" contractor on that Wal Mart job. )
What do you mean by that?

/ A REAL chipper...!!! #24
It seems Walmart uses non union companies when building there stores. (I don't know if that is the case all over) That was a big issue here. Union electricians, masonry workers, carpenters etc. even staged an informational picket.

I figured that was what he meant, however, why shouldn't non union workers be able to work? This doesn't belong here in this thread and I don't mean to hijack it but I get tired of everybody complaining about non union companies. But enough of my views. That chipper is one great toy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Robert:

I apologize for disrupting the thread. I am just pro union. Wal Mart is anti union. That's a well publicized fact.

Again, I am sorry I ruffled your feathers.

Have a nice day......

No problem, just two different views that we have. Take care.

( Wal Mart is building a new super center on 10 heavily wooded acres with some massive trees. They shredded everyting on the land and sold it to the nurseries for a profit. )

I would love to see the walmart bulldozed and sold for scrap. One of the most un-American companies I can think of on any number of different levels. Everytime someone shops at walmart they make the Waltons and the sweat shops they buy from richer while pissing American jobs down the toilet.
Keep the trees - flush walmart.

Nice pictures !!!!!!!!! I noticed the guy operating the chippers has no helmet, goggles and probably no ear plugs . In NY if that was seen by state officials imediate shutdown. Also not a safe idea by the operator. Wayne

Where I used to work they had that same chipper. Ate anything and everything incuding you if you didn't keep an eye it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I think it had a perkins 4cyl diesel with over 100 hp. my favorite part was the winch but man was it loud. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif In one of the pics you have the feed rolls after that is about a 3' rotating drum with four chipping blades. oh yeah and the price a cool $40,000. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Henro I would have saved the chips for composting as well. Sooner or later they'll make good fertilizer for your garden once they have completely broken down. good bunch of action shots also. Can't get tired of watching machinery at work.

Heh... I cut it into nice 18" blocks and stack it neat, and feel lucky if I can pawn it off on someone. I guess they're waiting for me to split it and haul it for them. I burn it as a last resort. I absolutely hate to waste oak trees.

Sewers are going in...like it or not! We like it I guess...and they did their best to accomdate us by keeping the line below our pond... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The only time I can still for more than 30 minutes is watching machinery. It's mesmerizing. I must have a machinery gene or something. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
