In a recent post someone mentioned a rod type bucket level indicator. Can someone tell me what that is please? Have you put any other type of indicators on your tractor?
Here is some pictures of the rod type bucket level indicator I made for my B3030. There are several designs people have made. Maybe others will post some pictures of there home made idicators
Yes I did drill and tap the pins on a lathe. I tapped the pins with a 3/8-24 tap. For the upper tube I cut the head off a 3/8-24 bolt. Then placed the bolt in a mill. With a 1/2" end mill I formed the radius of the upper tube on the head of the bolt. With a C-clamp I held the radius bolt to the tube and welded the bolt to the tube. Ended up looking factory. I can always put it back to original.
Here is picture of mine that I made for my B3030/LA403. I copied the idea from someone here on TBN. It is very simple and easy to make.It is just a length of 3/8" plated rod that I bought at a hardware store. You don't really need a Heim joint to attach the rod to the bucket. A 90* bend in the rod with a hole drilled in it for a cotter key would work just as well. The 5/16" eyebolt on the top side makes it really simple, too. I level the bucket on flat ground and put two pieces of black electrical tape on the rod with a gap in between that indictes when the bucket is level. This accesory has really been a timesaver and makes working the FEL a whole lot easier.
