Hello,

I've made the decision to leave the city life behind me. I recently bought 6.5 acres surrounded by conservation land. I'm completely clueless about land management, but am eager to learn and improve my lot. I'll be buying a compact tractor in the near future so that I can clear some space, have a garden, and cut some trails for my dogs to run through. Looking forward to this next adventure.

Cheers.

My money says you will live longer... at least lower stress life and be more active. I made the move almost 10 years ago. Don't regret it a bit. If you are a DIYer, you should find it very rewarding.

How far is your closest hospital with an ICU? I thought like you did years ago and now I'm reconsidering when the hospital is over an hour away.

That is a little far for me too. 15 minutes high speed seems to be more 'comfortable'.

Thanks everyone!

I hope so. That's the goal. Lose some weight and return to an active rewarding lifestyle. I miss being able to say (to myself) "I made/did that."

Unfortunately I'm forced to live somewhat close to the main grid for work. Hospitals, etc are only 15mins away. That's why I could only afford 6.5 acres. The price of property in the North East is just stupid. My house (that I had to rent out when I got transferred) in TX would be worth three times here what it is there. I feel lucky to have even found this much land in south east NH.
