project_X,

Do you know the names of those parts.

I thought in an earlier post that you tore the valve down and cleaned and inspected everything.

I pulled all the pieces I could get out. The flow control valve has no head, I still can't figure out how to get it out....

Here it is.

you can't get at from the other side it is a blind hole, there are two plugs #20 that go in to that hole on an angle, but I can't get the flow control valve out.

SWAG here... part #24 looks like a retaining ring? perhaps if you push in the assembly far enough you can get some kind of sleeve in there to compress #24? Sounds like a very special tool is needed if I'm right.

#24 is a P7 size o-ring

when the entire assembly is together, the plug can't come out as #15 and #13 hold into the block. you must be able to force it out from one of the angle holes, but I can't find a tool that is rigid enough and flexible enough.......

What part # are you calling the flow control valve? If when it was all together did # 13 cover a little of that hole? By what I see from the parts brake down the packing ring is the only thing holding it in, unless something is in it locking # 8 up. I think you have to get air on the back side and blow out. The spring should of pushed it out, if #13 covers part of the hole holding it in.
By the way the # are from your picture not from JD's that we used before.

I see we are writing at the same time. I'm on dialup so it's slow.

I agree that it should just come out, but whatever is sticking he valve is not letting me get it out.....

air inject from the spring side will leak around 8 and 9 and not force it out. i tried to stick an allen key in the hole in 8 and pulling. but an allen key small enough to fit in just bends....

I see in one of the pictures you pushed the plug in. That should of came back out by the spring pressure unless it is a weak srping kink of looks like it is. Did that move easy when you pushed on it?

no, it was hard to push and doesn't come back to flush. i even reinstalled everything in the valve to try to get air to move it back out....
