Mowing About fed up with trying to adjust deck on 1025R

Ok, picked up used 2020 1025R with 55hrs and 60D deck. I’ve read all the tutorials, manuals, and TTWT’s guide on YouTube.

Mower when I got it mowed good but was only getting like 3.25” height max. I took all apart and followed all instructions on how to adjust everything. I’ve done this three times. Combination of good 4” height but then deck won’t unlock, deck unlocks but only 3.25” max height, pitch is 1/2” or more off front to back etc.

I’ve got to a point where it at least unlocks, pitch is right front to back and side to side, but still only 3.25” max cutting height.

I’m about to try and make sure rock shaft is getting max height to see what’s going on there.

Any suggestions or words of wisdom welcome. Facebook groups and green tractor forum have not been real helpful

Suspect 3.25" is the max you can get with the tires on the 1025R

I'm not familiar with this, but if there is actually room to raise the deck to the level that you want, a work around may be to simply chain it up somehow at that height. There would be consequences, of course - mainly that the deck would not be able to follow the ground contours as well.

I'm not sure how much difference there is between decks and tractor lifts, but on my 2320 and 62D deck, there is an uplift limit bracket on the deck that will hit the frame and limit how high the deck will lift in the storage position. If it is within 1/4 or 1/8 of an inch, the deck height is adjusted correctly. After 10 years, something on my lift system had worn or bent such that I couldn't get full lift, so I remanufactured the adjustable links to get full lift back.

I have an X300 that was terrible from the day it was new. Max cutting height is too low and it is impossible to level.

Something could have been slightly bent by the prior owner.

Is the 4" height based on a particular set of tires on the 1025r or do you have lower profile tires installed??

Y don’t u mow at 4” with the deck up and locked?

My X740 has a mower adjustment knob labeled 1-6. (One to six inches right?) After trying to adjust the deck heigth to a specific inch I found that scale was just a guide. The highest posible heigth id 3.5" actual with corrrelates to 6 on the scale. I know it is a different tractor but maybe this will help.
