Abrupt stop on RTV

I know exactly where it mounts and all. It shouldn't be diffucult...I'll try to take some pics of it tomorrow and get any other info I can find about it.

BTW, have you got over 50 hours on your RTV? The sudden stop issue becomes less of a problem IMO after it has been broken in and you get use to it.

Thanks Jippy.
I think I'm at about 47 hours. Already picked up everything for the 50 hour maintenance but haven't had a chance to do it yet.
I'd say the abruptness on mine seems about the same as when new. Hard to tell exactly... Now that I'm used to the abrupt stop, I just let it do it. I don't try too often to feather the stopping.

Concerning the speed control lever:

I think this revised part will be very hard to come by, since it is a relatively new production part. I seriously doubt many dealers will be able to get them right away. I can't find any instructions/documents related to it, since it is a running production change and not meant to be a kit to replace previous production speed control levers.

They are readily available though parts. Its not a "kit" so there are not detailed directions or anything on its use. From what I hear its pretty straight forward.

Yep, that sounds about right to me. This revised part assembly will probably be on back order (like some people have reported) for awhile, but will be available sooner or later and no replacement instructions will be available. Also, I could not find anything in the WSM about it but like Messick said it should not be difficult to do.

For the speed control assembly, mine is still on backorder. It "should" be here next week.

I don't want to hijack this thread but since we have a couple weeks, let me ask a couple quick question.

Since we're talking about hours a little here, is there anything the dealer "needs" to do for the 50 hour service? I was just going to change all the oils, filters and check everything out.

For getting Kubota stuff to dealers do they send parts, accessories and the machines themselves based on the dealers volume? The local dealer is pretty small (probably 10 or so new Kubota's on the whole lot). It seems that he can't get accessories (at least for the RTV). I ordered a bed liner and winch mount in May. He hasn't gotten either yet. I call a big dealer somewhere else and the part is at my door in the same week. (I haven't taken this approach on the speed control assembly since it's just an experiment for discussion on the forums)

There is no preference given to a big dealer, the only advantage is that larger ones stock more stuff and order in higher quanity. RTV accessories are hard to get and have been for awhile, it took me several months to get some of the stuff I have ordered. I think Kubota was not prepared for the huge hit the RTV has turned out to be.

I agree. I have waited 3-months to get my glove box. It finally came in yesterday and I am sorry to say it wasn't worth the wait. Pretty dinky /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif About all it is good for is to put a pair of non -insulated gloves in it. At the same time I got sucked into that very dinky front storage compartment too! About all that's good for is to store my insulated gloves! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I fun about these minor issues but I absolutely love my RTV!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After further review, there is a speed lever assembly kit on the way for the new K7561-42334 (Rev. 4) part. Kit P/N K7561-97421 will be available sooner or later and it will have an installation manual/guide.
