I just got the Accaptain auto-darkening helmet model LYG-0K-800H and it came with two larger plastic replacement lenses. But the outside of the viewing area has a curved plastic cover. I don't see any mention of this in the owners manual. So is that part a consumed part and is to be discarded after it gets weld splatter on it?

Yes, the clear plastic protector is a replaceable item. You can replace it every time it gets damaged or foggy nd you can't see clearly.

Yes, I understand that the flat plastic part can be replaced, the helmet came with two of those, I am reffering to the convex thin plastic part that is in front of the more solid plastic part. See this photo:

No idea. that's the problem with odd size helmets, it hard to find dam lens protectors.
Yesterday got my first pancake welding hood, sanding the last touches I ****** it up when i sanded on the wrong part now i see a little light sometimes. Think i can still sand it a little to fix it. Was using it today. Man what a difference I can weld in whatever position without worrying about the sun.

Does the flat plastic lens protectors bend?... Or send question to manufacture of helmet...
No, the replacement lens protectors are solid, and flat. This is my first auto-darkening helmet. I am just a hobby welder, I use it for miscellaneous jobs when I want two pieces of metal to stick together.
Right now I am fabricating a new front suspension for my Hart, battery powered rider mower. The current front suspension is fixed, similar to what is found on the lower priced Zero-Turns.
I want to put on a pivoting front axle so that it will, hopefully, ride a bit smoother.

No, I have not. That will be my next move. I was hoping that there would be some Arccaptain helmet users here.

Most certainly should be replaceable but likely dealer item.
