HELLO,
i am typing this with one hand. i tried to hook the
grader blade on my tractor, and the frame smashed
my left hand between it, and the ball hitch. i have fracture
on one bone, and my hand is swollen big time, in a cast.
no surgery required. getting careless, need to pay more
attention when i make the hookup.

Very sorry to hear about your accident. I have found taking a LOT of vitamin C or Ester C if C bother's your stomach, helps heal those type of wounds. Lots means 4 or more GRAMS a day, spaced out.

Good luck,

Mike

I've found that 4 grams every 3 or 4 hours works even better. Of course if you take too much you get the runs.

Yep, but it beats the alternative.

For you folks taking high dose vitamin C; does it turn your urine yellow? If so, its quicker to just throw the pill in the toilet. Vitamin C is a water souluble vitamin and vitamins are usually the rate limiting step in the chemical processes they mediate. No harm in taking large quantities of water souluble vitamins but what your body doesn't need it clears through the kidneys. Throwing it in the toilet eliminates one step.:D

Fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K), on the other hand, can accumulate in your body if over used and can cause problems.

Be carefull or next time that might have to put you a 'hook' on there.. and then we'd have to call you 'the claw' or somehting like that.

hope you get healed up fast.

Glad to hear you don't need surgery. If the docs suggest physical therapy, do it and do it with all the enthusiam you put into the tractor. It can make the difference between fully functional and "almost normal" once you are healed.

I apologize for not sending my best wishes earlier. I am glad that you will not need surgery. I agree with TwinCreek if you do need PT (been there done that). Jay
