Add on Hydraulic filter on 5005

I have a 5005. Recently I had an issue with the hydraulic pump locking up. Dealer went through 2 pumps before getting one that was "right". Anyway, what is y'all's opinion on hooking up a spin on Hyd filter to supplement the screen in the reservoir? Also, I wonder where I would put it? Wouldn't something like that go in the suction line?
