Just went and looked ............. We've made 217 orders from Amazon so far in 2024.
(The 50% off usually get me every time.)
That probably puts you in the lead😁

Yes and no. The quality has gotten abismal and finding legit brands has become a hard task.

Counterfeits and fake reviews everywhere

Which is sad, 5-6 years ago I shopped mostly on amazing but it's just gone down hill
Yes the positive reviews have become less honest. So read the negative ones, I'd say they are still good.

It’s not just online retailers like Amazon. Local chains like harbor freight are even worse. All their Chinese products have almost prefect scores

On the reviews, I got a card in the mail from an item we bought that offered us a $25 or $50 (I can't remember now) gift card if I gave a 5 star review...

That's not bribery ?
There are people who make money making false reviews, somehow. I say somehow because I've submitted lots of reviews and never received anything except a thank you. But the phoney reviews are usually easy to spot.

Amazon, and other online retailers have been a godsend for us rural folk. Even paying for fast shipping, prices are often cheaper than brick & mortar stores, assuming you can find one that has what you need. Then there's the cost of gas and your time to consider.

So far this month, I've placed 52 online orders for projects I've got going, and most are from Amazon. Sure, there are fake reviews to deal with, but most can be verified with a few Google searches. Amazon's liberal return policy makes the process that much more convenient. Of the 52 orders I placed this month, 2 have been returned at no cost. Replacements or refunds are very fast.

I average over 500 Amazon orders per year and have a Prime membership. At $136/year, I'm well ahead on shipping costs. There are other Prime benefits I use as well. In addition to their TV movies, I'm looking forward to their 10 cent/gal gas discount at BP and some other stations.

I'm sure others feel differently, but to me, where I live, Amazon has been a real time and money saver.

Tired of paying $20 for a haircut I bought a hair clipper set for $50 20 yrs ago. My wife admonished me for wasting money. But I haven't been to a barbershop since and the clipper does a decent job on my goatee and face too. No more shaving for me, just a close clip leaves me with less than a 5 o'clock shadow every few days. That's good enough for me and girl I go with. ;)

If I require something quickly, I buy it locally. I prefer to support local business myself. If I don't need it right away, I will buy from Amascon. I'd never pay a fee for expedited free shipping, ever. Not how I roll.

I guess that you don’t shave?
Not too often. In summer I keep a short goatee. Winter I beard out. It's so much warmer than a bare face. Nice for ice fishing and cross country skiing. Weddings, funerals, or special request from wife I'll shave back to goatee. Only thing regularly shaved is my cheeks under my glasses and my neck.

Last month we went to Oregon for vacation. Wife asked me to trim up. I set the beard trimmer on #3 and hit my mustache area only to find it was set on #1. :ROFLMAO:

So it all came off. Had to start over. 🙃

Amazon is not all pluses but sure makes getting this or that product easier. For example, we used to get the starbucks coffee we like from Wall World but at times wouldn't stock the type we liked. Found larger 40oz bags on Amazonie and today get 2 bags at a time for reasonable pricing. Man-o-man is that convenient.

My dad's father was a barber. My dad had a barber license and cut hair while he attended college. My mom's brother in-law was a barber. He took a nick out of my ear once. I went back to my dad after that. :ROFLMAO:

I used to go to a barber in the 1970s who cut my hair with a straight razor. That guy was totally meticulous about his work, but I wouldn't trust anyone with a straight razor today.

I buy almost everything from Amazon! I also buy most of my guns off of the internet too. Buds Gunshop, pick what I want and it's at my FFL usually within 4 days ready for pickup. And the prices are better than any shop around.

free shipping on Amazon.
"Free" shipping isn't, if you're paying for their "Prime" membership. I'll wait until I reach the $35 minimum for my orders.

I usually try to buy local, though.

I bought a wahl clipper set during Covid when everything was shut down. Have been back to a barber since. Good excuse to have a couple beers and head down to the garage every few months.
I like that I don't have to wait in line, get a shampoo I do myself everyday, or pay somebody to do something I can do myself. Funny I can't get my wife to do it for me but I get by cutting it every 4-5 months.
Be careful drinking and hair cutting :ROFLMAO:
