At one time I was going to fab up a fixture so I could compress the springs on my struts. Had used the store bought hook on a threaded rod type before but was just a major pain. Ended up bringing them to a garage to have it done for $10 a piece instead. Still, I think it would work fine, just need to design it so the spring is captured and can't go BOINNNNGGGG!![]()
I used a splitter as a strut compressor a few years back. It worked great. You are right about having the springs retained for safety.:thumbsup:
