We don't have a Home Depot. I wish they'd hire some of those girls at our Lowes.

To be completely honest about the incident in my first post, it was the fact that I had picked up one block and put it in the trailer and the two little girls were picking up one in each hand with another under each arm and walking to the trailer and stacking them. Neither could have weighed more than 140 pounds. Both had muscles standing out on their arms. One was wife's former student and had three kids.

I was both impressed and intimidated with the ease they were handling the blocks. My wife could barely lift one.

When letting friends or relatives use your backyard to store their boat, because you live so close to the lake..
MAKE SURE it doesnt become "THE" party spot or fix-it shop..
GET YOUR BOAT AND LEAVE.. DROP YOUR BOAT OFF AND LEAVE..
NO you cant use my tools.. Take your trash w/ you!!! NO, I wont drag your boat to the water!!!
NO I wont come pull you out when your done.!!!

Goes double when it's their RV or camper (ask me how I know)

Speaking of campers, when renting or borrowing a friends motor home for a family outing always double check the straps securing the holding tank to the frame.
Returning home from the Michigan State Fair some years age I lost a full holding tank on Detroit's John Lodge Freeway. Coulden't figure out why every one was passing me with their windshield wipers running on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon until an older lady riding shot gun in a big Cadillac rolled her window down and experlative delegated, suggested I should pull over. It wasn't two minutes later another 'Dad' from our party pulled along side and yelled your tanks gone, you better get the hel outta here. Anyone who knows anything about Detroit clearly recognized the sage advice.
At a rest area twenty miles out of town we stopped to investigate and found the steel straps that hold the tank had completely rusted through thus dumping the tank and it's condense on the roadway.
We now have our own rig and many miles of great travel since that incident but always pay attention to what's going on underneath.

Never drive behind a semi hauling cows, pigs, sheep or any other livestock animal for any longer than it takes to pass them. One of the animals might just take a leak out the side covering your truck and boat in a very nasty and long lasting smell.

And just for the fun of it, I had the window down on the truck. It was such a nice day after all.

Here's one that's not funny. I always slow down to wildlife speed when driving country roads after dark. Usually that means 45 mph with my brights on, even slower in bad visibility. Cars have hit a dozen deer on the road to my house. A couple of them messed up the car so badly it required a tow truck.

when opening 12ft tall over head doors, make sure your not standing on the pull down rope before throwing all your weight into raising said door  Might have ended up on my keister once or twice being in a hurry, to the amusement of my coworkers

Also, avoid hitting skunks when it's 10 degrees outside at all costs!!!! Especially if the blower fan for the heater in your truck only works on low speed. At that point you have a choice. Roll down the windows and freeze, or gag and choke all the way home. Either way, your stuck with the smell till it warms up enough for a car wash to thaw out.
