When using your neighbors dozer to clear brush in his wood lot, look behind it before you proceed. It wasn't until I tried to back up and couldn't that I found somene had left it hooked to a big gobel disc set deep. I did leave some nicely worked swaths behind me.

Similarly, don't try to cure a cold with a bottle of Southern Comfort and a bag of Doritos and a can of con queso. Especially the night before a wedding [not mine fortunately].

Never let someone talk you into getting on a horse you've never seen ridden. Sure someone else had just been on him so he's all tired out -- except he's a thoroughbred and they don't get tired.

And never play cards with someone who's first name is the same as a city [e.g. Amarillo Slim].

That sounds like there might be a good story in there.
That being said I have had the experience of coming down with a bad cold when at a conference a long way from home - it really sucks

Think very carefully before you reply to one of your wife's, "if you had done this then I would have probably done that", statements.

As in.

"If you had ever cheated on me I guess I would have forgiven you one time."

The incorrect reply was.

"Danm, you wait until I'm 55 to tell me that!"

I'm still paying for that one eight years later.

always roll down window some, and turn off vehicle, when dogs are put in. and you close door with them in it.

get use to and make it a habit of setting emergency brake, and taking off the emergency brake on all vehicles and tractors. regardless if on flat ground or not.

never get slack in a chain, cable, rope, and then pedal to metal and try to do something. it always end up something braking, and more than likely more costly to fix, than it would of been to call a tow truck, or rent something else. including time spent getting tow truck or renting something else to do it correctly.

double check outlets and switches with a multi meter, to make sure no power is going to them and breaker is off.

check how much fuel you have in your vehicles and machines on regular basis.
