Is that a basketball goal pole? I am trying to imagine a basketball hoop in the middle of a field, placed there 20 years ago...

Nope, just an old broken off pipe fence post that was there when we bought that place.

Lots of used 2-3/8" and 2-7/8" pipe from the oil fields available around here.

Here is some with concrete still on the pipe, hanging on the 48" block forks:

What I have done in the last year is picking them up with the subsoiler and pushing with a bucket . I had a tc 30 ath the time . Maybe if I break them loose and then pick them up with the grapple it would work. This tractor has twice the power

Is this worth a look?

I feel like a stump bucket would create a much bigger hole then a grappler. We are talking about a small spruce stump here, they are pretty easy to pull out... I am assuming Op's replant every row once the stump is gone ?

A stump bucket does make a big mess if you’re digging a bigger stump. If you’re only digging a small spruce stump you can flip it out of the ground with the teeth without digging any hole at all. Most people wouldn’t consider digging a large stump like the stump bucket is capable of with a grapple.

I have an American Attachments Root Grapple on 50hp. I think their narrowest (Economy Series) is 60 inches in Root or Rake. No issues as far as strength from me.
